How Did Larry Thomas Die?
Thomas, who was born in New York City, spent his formative years alongside his four brothers. He had a natural talent for repairing automobiles, and at age 21, he opened his own repair shop. After a year, he began dating the waitress Stephanie Peters. After dating for nearly four years, the couple wed in 1986.
In the early 2000s, the family of five relocated to Las Vegas’ neighboring city of Henderson. Larry began teaching auto-technology at the College of Southern Nevada, and Stephanie began working there. Through her profession, Shawn Pritchett, a bouncer, entered her life.
According to former Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sergeant Randy Sutton, who spoke with Snapped, “It appeared that Shawn Pritchett and Stephanie’s painting company was doing well. Larry excelled academically, earned a string of promotions, and was generally thriving. Everything appeared to be going swimmingly for all parties involved.”
Who Killed Larry Thomas?
When Stephanie’s brother disappeared, the police were contacted. William Peters, Stephanie’s brother, was concerned when he hadn’t heard from Larry in a while and questioned Stephanie about him; Stephanie avoided answering his questions.
Peters filed a missing person’s report on April 21, 2006, after realizing he could not reach the auto-technology instructor via any means other than voicemail. When asked about him, Stephanie stated that they had argued and he had left the house. She stated that April 13, 2006, was the last day she saw her spouse. She also mentioned that his abrupt departures from the residence were not unusual.
Pritchett allegedly beat Larry to death in Larry’s home after killing him with a baseball bat.
According to the results of the investigation, Stephanie and Shawn Pritchett were found to be equally responsible for Larry Thomas’s death. Mark DiGiacomo, the prosecutor, asserts that the victim’s “entire face was crushed in” and that his skull fracture was depressed when his body was discovered. His skull had been severed in two. He had a twisted spine and numerous shattered ribs in the thoracic region.
According to their call logs, Stephanie and Shawn Pritchett were in contact shortly before the auto technology professor was murdered.
In the end, it was determined that Pritchett had attacked Thomas with a baseball bat in Thomas’s home. Before finally discarding the corpse, he ran frantically over it. For the cover, he disassembled the truck and sold its parts.
Where Is Shawn Pritchett Today?
Shawn Pritchett was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of armed robbery, first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit murder. After pleading guilty to second-degree murder, Stephanie was sentenced to 10 to 25 years in prison.
