Recap of The Resident Season 5 Episode 2

Episode 502 of Fox’s medical drama appears to be the true beginning of nurse Nic’s written out of the show (Emily VanCamp).

But, before her husband, Conrad (Matt Czuchry), has a surprise visitor, we need to discover what’s wrong with Devon (Manish Dayal), who has become a patient after being exposed to a gas. Leela is concerned when she receives no reaction from Devon.

A janitor is summoned to the roof floor, where Devon is hanging out of the elevator when the elevator breaks down.

While attempting to locate a fellow student who has overdosed, a gang of students drives wildly. He just cares about one thing: keeping her safe.

The student, Trevor, informs Conrad of his friend’s larceny. Devon is rushed to the hospital’s emergency room. Devon starts convulsing, but they can calm him down.

Trevor is Billie’s biological son, and she recognises him in the ER. Billie implores him to maintain her privacy because no one else is aware of his existence.

Irving summons AJ to conduct a heart scan on the OD patient, who has a heart murmur and refuses to divulge any information. Devon has not woken up yet. They learned Devon had been poisoned by gas. He starts coughing up blood.

The kit is concerned that something is poisoning the hospital’s medical staff and patients, but Bell assures her that he’ll handle the courting of the new neurosurgeon she’s trying to hire.

Trevor learns that his friend had a valve replacement and had breached her promise by doing narcotics. Devon wakes up with no recall of what has occurred.

When Billie is summoned to inform Janie that Trevor is present, she is upset, and AJ notices that they are having an affair. Trevor decides to follow Billie to see if she’ll be okay, and the two have a fight.

AJ is forced to intervene as Billie and Trevor get into a fight. He inquires about Billie’s relationship with Trevor, but she refuses to say anything. Conrad and Kit look into Devon’s behaviour and follow his steps until they come across a clue relating to radiography and casting.

Conrad finds Winston in the room and removes him, then orders an orderly to contact Kit and have the basement sealed off.

Trevor overhears AJ, Billie, and Irving discussing if saving Janie is worth it. He promises to be her support system, so she doesn’t do it again.

Winston has been mistreated. AJ approaches Trevor and asks to speak with him about Janie. When he inquires about his troubles with Billie, Trevor tells him the truth.

Devon pays Winston a visit, which brings back memories for him. Winston’s life was saved when he activated the room’s vent, which expelled most of the gas and caused him to pass out on the elevator after striking his head.

Bell looks around for references until he finds Tina, a friend who agrees to give Browner an honest evaluation. Browner, she claims, is a liability, and the other hospital is simply trying to get rid of him.

AJ comforts Janie and tells Billie that he will not condemn her or divulge anything. Trevor is being warned by AJ not to take the wrong path in life. Conrad is with Gigi at home. Instead of Nic going home safely, Conrad is greeted by two officers at his door.

Nic hasn’t been seen since she texted that she was on her way. The cops inform Conrad that there has been an accident.

Meanwhile, Billie has an unplanned run-in with her son Trevor, who is in the hospital with a friend who has overdosed.
