Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

Tanjirou quickly severs the head of an Upper-Rank 4 demon named Hantengu. But just as he begins cutting into Hantengu’s neck, Tanjirou senses something menacing lurking behind him. Another demon appears before his eyes and launches an attack against Tanjirou while keeping an eye on Hantengu. Unfortunately for Tanjirou, he misidentifies Zohakuten as this sixth demon. Genya witnessed Zohakuten devouring three bodies to transform into this form.

Zohakuten becomes infuriated at Tanjirou’s attempt to decapitate Hantengu and accuses his kin, the demons, of preying upon the weak and defenseless. Tanjirou becomes outraged by this charge but still attempts to take down Zohakuten, who had killed and eaten multiple innocent individuals. Zohakuten rationalizes that Tanjirou’s non-relatives should not concern him for their safety, leading him to strike Tanjirou, further intensifying their confrontation.

Meanwhile, the Mist Hashira remains trapped inside Gyokko’s pot. The Upper-Rank Five demons mock her capture and eagerly anticipate her death. Instead of being taunted, Mist Hashira decides to explore Tokito’s hut in search of secrets held back by Tokito. Although she appears calm on the outside, she is suffering greatly inside.

Michirou experiences visions of Master Ubuyashiki when Gyokko enters his hut. This prompts him to believe that his life may soon end, and he awaits rescue from Tanjirou’s awakening of Tokito and later Michirou himself. Tokito tells Michirou not to give up hope so quickly since their future remains unpredictable. In contrast, Gyokko attempts to confront Hotaru Haganezuka, who seems completely immersed in his work and unaware of Gyokko’s presence inside his shack. However, Gyokko remains completely unaware of Hotaru Haganezuka’s presence inside. Eventually, Gyokko manages to confront Hotaru, who remains completely focused on his work, oblivious to Gyokko’s presence.

Gyokko finds Hotaru’s concentration disarming but humiliating. He is jealous of Haganezuka’s craftsmanship and wishes to disrupt it rather than kill him. Tokito fears his life is fading away and doubts that anyone coming to rescue him could ever surpass him. However, Tanjirou keeps appearing, assuring him of coming assistance despite what Tokito believes to be visions.

Tokito attempts to use his sword to rescue Muichirou from her enemies within but soon realizes that plenty of challenges are coming from outside as well. Still, Tokito remains determined in his mission, despite realizing that his place is outside and that he should prioritize personal safety over saving others. On the other hand, Kotetsu finds himself fighting one of the smaller demons as he tries to free Tokito.

As soon as Tokito sees the demon, fear overwhelms him, and he desperately attempts to warn Kotetsu about it, believing that he may still be unaware. However, Kotetsu is injured before Tokito can deliver his message. He is stabbed multiple times before Tokito can reach him with the warning. Despite himself, Kotetsu blows air bubbles into his pot, allowing the Mist Hashira to use his breathing technique for the first time. Finally, the Mist Hashira is given air, breaking free in time from confinement and using his breathing technique.
