How Did Frank Griga and Krisztina Furton Die

Who was Krisztina Furton & Frank Griga and How Did They Die?

Frank Griga immigrated to the US from Hungary for a better life. He relocated to Florida after working a minimum wage job in New York, where he eventually established a phone sex business that brought him millions of dollars. The 33-year-old was dating Krisztina, a 23-year-old also from Hungary, and they were living in Miami, Florida’s upscale Golden Beach neighbourhood at the time of the event. They met at a strip club when she was a professional diver.

Frank and Krisztina had been dating for roughly three years at the time of the event. The two were last spotted together on May 24, 1995. The next day, when the housekeeper came, she could not locate the couple and discovered that they had abandoned their dog. She, therefore, called her neighbour and friend Judi Bartusz and told her that Frank and Krisztina were missing.

The airline tickets for Frank and Krisztina were still in the house. The investigation ultimately resulted in the discovery of their remains in sizable drums dumped in Florida’s Everglades. They first discovered their torsos, subsequently discovering the heads and limbs elsewhere. Frank was recognized by a tooth, and Krisztina was recognized by the serial number of her breast implant. After being killed, they were dismembered.

Who Killed Krisztina Furton and Frank Griga and Why?

The police spoke with Judi, who had observed Frank and Krisztina leaving for supper with two muscular guys on May 24, 1995. According to the show, Judi hadn’t seen them previously but got a good look at both of them and gave the cops a description. Days later, a state trooper discovered Frank’s abandoned vehicle in the Everglades, which prompted the authorities to step up their investigation.

When the police heard the two men’s descriptions, they recalled a case involving a millionaire named Marc Schiller, who had previously spoken about being abducted and tortured for more than a month by a group of men; they had allegedly done unspeakable things to him to force him to sign over all of his assets at the time. Marc was then placed in a car and set on fire in an attempt to kill him, but he managed to survive. He didn’t report it until months later due to his fear, and the police at first didn’t believe him.

However, because Frank and Krisztina were missing, the police raced against time, hoping that the pair wouldn’t experience what Marc had described. They discovered Jorge Delgado, a former employee of Marc Schiller, and made a connection between him and Daniel “Danny” Lugo.

Bodybuilder Danny worked as a trainer at the neighbourhood Sun Gym and has served time behind bars for insurance fraud. Adrian Doorbal, Danny’s right-hand man, knew Jorge and was a fellow fitness instructor at the facility. Later, the police discovered that these men were responsible for Marc’s abduction and torture.

Jorge and Adrian were promptly taken into custody by the police, but Danny, Frank, and Krisztina were not present. The business card from Frank, bloodstains, and the clothes Krisztina was wearing when she vanished were all discovered at Adrian’s flat by the police. They located Sabina Petrescu, Danny’s girlfriend, who initially refused to help them because she thought Danny was a CIA operative. He was eventually apprehended because Sabina revealed to the police that he was hiding in the Bahamas.

The inquiry showed that the gang approached Frank via a common friend and targeted him because of his affluence. On May 24, 1995, they enticed them to a secluded restaurant with a bogus investment proposal. Then, Danny and Adrian recommended that they continue their conversation at Adrian’s townhouse.

Adrian attempted to choke Frank there, but when he resisted, he put him in a chokehold and punched him until he died. After that, Danny took control of Krisztina and gave her a horse tranquilizer, which ultimately caused her death. They had already attempted to obtain the access credentials to Frank’s home from her.

The plan having failed miserably, the men then asked Jorge and John Raimondo for assistance in disposing of the remains. They transported them to a warehouse where they were disassembled using a saw and a hatchet before being dumped. John left the car unattended, and it was later discovered. The proprietor of Sun Gym, John Mese, was also linked to the case by the authorities. He notarized the papers Marc had earlier signed.

Where is the Sun Gym Gang Now?

Danny, who was 32 at the time, Adrian, who was 24, and John Mese, who was 59 at the time, were all found guilty in May 1998 of various offences, including forgery, money laundering, and first-degree murder. As part of a plea agreement, Jorge agreed to testify against his fellow accomplices. Danny and Adrian were given death sentences. However, Adrian’s sentence was later commuted to life in prison due to a modification in the death penalty law. Danny and Adrian are currently out of the department’s custody due to a court order and will continue to be detained in Florida prisons.

John Mese received a 56-year sentence; he passed away in prison on October 4, 2004, at the age of 66, from a stroke. Jorge was given a 15-year sentence, but after only serving seven years, he was freed in September 2002. His then-wife, Linda, filed for a divorce. When Jorge attempted to loot a convenience shop in 2008, he once more got into trouble and was sentenced to probation.

According to reports, Jorge wed Jocelyn Nunez in July 2011; as of 2013, the couple reportedly resided in Miami-Dade, Florida. It appears that Jorge currently resides and operates a gym in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the end, Raimondo was given an 8-year sentence but only completed half of it. Later, he expressed regret and relocated to New Jersey to avoid the spotlight.
