In “The Book of Boba Fett,” Who is Mok Shaiz, The Mayor of Mos Espa? What Is It That He Desires?

The Book of Boba Fett Disney Series

Disney continues to expand the ‘Star Wars‘ universe into new and interesting ways with ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’

Following the enormous success of ‘The Mandalorian,’ Disney plans to release a number of web series.

‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ like ‘The Mandalorian,’ is a space western, but unlike the latter, which follows its protagonist and his charge around the galaxy, the former appears to be based primarily, if not entirely, on Tatooine.

As a result, the majority of the supporting characters in ‘The Book of Boba Fett‘ will most likely be from Tatooine.

Mok Shaiz, the Mayor of Mos Espa and the neighbouring plateaus, is one of them. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

In The Book of Boba Fett, Who Is Mok Shaiz, The Mayor of Mos Espa?

Mok Shaiz doesn’t appear in the premiere episode of ‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ but the way he’s being set up, it’s evident that he’ll act as the season’s adversary or perhaps play a role; similar to Moff Gideon in ‘The Mandalorian.’

Robert Rodriguez, who directed numerous episodes, including the first, also provided Mok Shaiz’s narration. In the series trailer, we hear Mok talking to Boba.

Several notable figures from Mos Espa and former captains of Jabba the Hutt appear before Boba to pay respects as the new crime lord or Daimyo of the galactic underworld.

Mok Shaiz will now arrive before Boba, according to 8D8, the macho Roche Hive 8D-series smelter droid.

The Mayor’s twi’lek majordomo, on the other hand, has arrived in place of his boss. In a polite but condescending manner, the majordomo informs Boba that the Mayor will not pay him any tribute.

Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) says that they assumed the Mayor himself was coming to pay the payment once the majordomo appears and clarifies his identity.

He apologises and says he understands why someone may make such a conclusion from the correspondence without first hearing the Mayor’s side of the storey.

Mok Shaiz doesn’t just refuse to pay the tribute; he actually expects Boba to do so.

Fennec expresses his desire to kill the messenger, but Boba chooses to release him. Lord Fett provides the gift of his unmolested leave, the famed assassin jokes to the majordomo.

The twi’lek warns her and Boba that the Mayor might misunderstand their unwillingness to pay the tribute, but he will transmit their message to him.

Who Is the Mok Shaiz, the Mayor of Mos Espa

What is Mok Shaiz’s goal?

Later in the episode, Boba and Fennec are ambushed in Mos Espa’s streets, and there’s a reasonable probability Shaiz was behind it.

Mos Espa is a criminal enclave ruled by the Hutt clan with an iron fist. Other forces in the spaceport appear to be vying for control of the spaceport against Boba during these transitional times.

And its Mayor is likely to be his most formidable foe.
