Our beloved Jurassic Park series is back with its seventh movie, Jurassic World Rebirth. This time, the movie really plays with fear. This movie is meant to scare and unsettle you, unlike the ones that came before it, which often found a balance between awe and adventure. The movie takes place on a remote island with a dangerous secret and stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. It’s like going to a nightmare from prehistoric times but even scarier.

What Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg wanted to do with Jurassic World Rebirth was to make things more dangerous. The movie’s clear goal was to take people back to a scary and dangerous place they hadn’t been since the 1993 original Jurassic Park. He says, “It has to be dangerous.” Director Gareth Edwards, who is known for Rogue One and Godzilla (2014), made a world full of new challenges, like dense jungles, dangerous waters and cliffs that hide mutant animals that have a natural urge to hunt.

These dinosaurs were not like most prehistoric giants. Marshall says that the movie shows mutated versions of the creatures that were found in real dinosaur research. He says, “These are the dinosaurs that didn’t work.” Unlike the familiar species, these hybrid predators were made to be very scary and hard to predict.

A HORRIBLE MISSION THAT GOES WRONG

The story is about a recovery team led by Zora Bennett, played by Scarlett Johansson, who is a highly skilled special agent with a military background. Zora and her team are trying to get genetic material that could help find a cure for heart disease. But there’s a catch: the DNA they need comes from the three biggest land, sea, and air dinosaurs that lived on an island where they were safe and healthy for many years.

Mahershala Ali plays Zora’s trusted second-in-command, and Jonathan Bailey plays a scientist who is pressed for time to finish the mission. They end up at the ruins of the original Jurassic Park research facility as part of their quest. But instead of fossils that have been forgotten, they find creatures that are much deadlier than anything they could have thought of.

The most terrifying dinosaur in the movie so far was made by director Gareth Edwards with ideas from famous monsters from movies like Alien and Star Wars. Screenwriter David Koepp, who worked on the first Jurassic Park movie, brought back a scary scene from Michael Crichton’s book about a T. rex that is hiding in a lagoon. This scene was supposed to be in the first movie but wasn’t. In Jurassic World Rebirth, it finally is.

Scarlett Johansson’s childhood dream came true when she joined the Jurassic world. “I couldn’t get enough of the first movie,” she says. “For a year, I slept in a Jurassic Park pup tent.” It took her years of dropping hints at Spielberg’s agents before she finally met him and got the part. Johansson says, “I’m a huge superfan.”
