Luther 2 Release Date – The criminal thriller “Luther: The Fallen Sun,” directed by Jamie Payne and written by Neil Cross, is a crime film. It is the big-screen adaptation of the 2010-2019 British television series (BBC). Idris Elba, who also serves as the film’s producer, reprises his role as John Luther opposite Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis.
This time around, the smart, tired, and discredited police investigator Luther (Elba) is locked up as the serial killer (Andy Serkis) who terrorizes London city. Obviously, Luther is prepared to take all available ways to escape eventually.
Luther: The Fallen Sun, which also stars Cynthia Erivo, Dermot Crowley, Thomas Coombes, Hattie Morahan, Lauryn Morahan, and Vincent Regan, is a treat for fans of the original series. With that coat on, Idris Elba cannot be ignored.
Because Luther: The Fallen Sun concludes in a manner that could be continued, here’s all you need to know about a potential Luther 2 on Netflix as we wait to see whether it occurs.

Will There Be a Luther: The Fallen Sun 2?
Although Netflix has yet to announce the debut date for the second season of Luther, there is currently no set date. The first film’s production began in November 2021, and it opened in theatres at the end of February 2023; it debuted on Netflix on March 10, 2023. If production on a sequel begins this year, it may not be released until early 2025.
Luther 2 Potential Cast Details
A Luther movie would not be a Luther picture without Idris Elba as John Luther, so we may see him again in a trench coat. Yet, Elba acknowledges that another actor may be more suited for the role. He explained that a James Bond rip-off would result in “someone else playing John” in the future. Currently, the chance seems remote, but stranger things have occurred.
In a forthcoming sequel, you can expect Dermot Crowley to reprise his role as Luther’s ex-boss, Martin Schenk.
Regrettably, Ruth Wilson did not repeat her role as Alice Morgan, but this does not rule out future appearances. “You could say that Ruth Wilson is a very important family member. I have a great deal of love for this family. Honestly, I guess “The author of Alice, Neil Cross, has hinted at a future reappearance.
DCI Odette Raine (Cynthia Erivo), who was initially cast as Luther’s replacement but grew to admire him by the film’s finale, may also return.
Andy Serkis will not reprise his role as serial killer David Robey from the previous film, as he is irrevocably frozen and dead by that film’s conclusion. Indeed, Luther became progressively absurd as the series proceeded, but this is absurd even by the show’s standards.
‘Luther: The Fallen Sun 2’ Plot Summary: What will the film be about?
It is important to note that The Fallen Sun stands alone like every Luther season prior to it. Luther locates Robey and puts an end to his murderous ways, although he escaped from prison to do so.
After killing Robey and reconciling with Schenk, it appears that Luther will return to prison. But Luther recovers from his injuries and finds Schenk waiting for him at a government safe house.
Schenk has yet to learn who the individuals in a mysterious car convoy are, but they appear to be heading in a particular direction. He tells Luther that he will not return to jail shortly. Maybe you got a job offer?
Tim Cranfield (Guy Williams), a government employee, greets Luther outside and informs him, “The chief would like to speak with you,” after telling him he did a “remarkable job” dealing with Robey.
It’s unknown who the mystery “Chief” is, but it’s plausible that Luther could be offered a secret agent position comparable to James Bond in place of his current position as DCI. A sequel may place Luther in that area, but he might just as well tell them to f*ck off and spend his term in jail.
