Manti Te’o and his wife Jovi Nicole, whom he married in 2020, reside in Utah. Hiromi, a daughter, and Prince, a dog, are also present. The San Diego Chargers selected Te’o in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has since played for groups including the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints.

He claimed that while he had at first been really angry over the entire situation, he had since overcome it and forgave the person who was behind the prank, Naya Tuiasosopo. However, it took him some time to understand that he also needed to forgive himself.
Te’o also said, “Honestly, I’d say I’m never going to be completely normal. It’s always going to be something that’s just there all the time, in the back of my head. Every day, in every situation with people—conversations, getting Facebook messages—I’m thinking about all the angles. What does that mean? Wait, stop, who really is this person? I would say I was naïve and I was just unlucky. I was naïve in that I trusted this ‘person.’ But a lot of things just happened, all together, to make this just a case of bad luck.”
Te’o is now more concerned with the future because the controversy is in the past, and he has a happy family in the present. Speaking about the mockery he endured as a result of the incident shown in the Netflix documentary, he declares that he is prepared to take it all in stride if he can serve as an inspiration to even one person. “In a time that we need more love, in a time that we need more light, it can start with us, it starts with the person you see in the mirror in the morning. I’m constantly trying to do my part,” he remarked.
