What Caused Peter Theriault’s Death?
Peter Theriault, 51, lived in Irving, California, and worked as a maintenance worker at a Ford warehouse. Peter, an army veteran who helped other soldiers suffering from PTSD, was described as having a beautiful heart.
Peter lived with his live-in girlfriend, Judy Valot, at the time of his murder, and the show stated that he enjoyed golfing and being outside.
Surprisingly, on December 2, 1998, Peter’s supervisor and coworkers were the first to detect his absence. Peter was a hard worker who never missed work without reason, so his coworkers were understandably concerned when he did not show up.
After that, Peter’s boss contacted Judy, who informed him that her lover had droved away after a major dispute.
Judy, on the other hand, seemed unconcerned about Peter’s location and only reported him missing 48 hours after he vanished.
Following that, the authorities left no stone unturned in their inquiry, but Peter’s body was never found, and he remains at large to this day.
Who Killed ‘Peter Theriault’ And Why?
Initially, the police hoped for a clear-cut case and the safe return of Peter to his family. However, after days of searching and finding no trace of him, authorities began looking into other possibilities.
First, they interrogated Peter’s girlfriend, Judy, who claimed Peter drove away after the two had an altercation about her daughter from a previous relationship.
The police received a few more leads from Peter’s pals after that, but they all turned out to be dead ends.
One of Peter’s acquaintances, according to the show, informed police how jealous Judy would be if she even observed any other ladies near Peter. Judy’s jealousy was so strong that she once erupted into a ruckus simply because a stranger had called their house.
Recognizing that jealousy could be a motive for murder, the cops contacted Judy, who abruptly changed her story, revealing that she and Peter had fought because she thought he was having an affair.
Authorities suspected Judy because of her contradictory testimonies, and when they found Peter’s automobile, they noted that it was being driven by someone much shorter than the victim.
When confronted for the third occasion, Judy changed her storey again, this time claiming that Peter had fled on foot while she delivered his car to him.
Authorities had search warrants for Peter’s home by this time, and they discovered blood droplets that started in the bedroom and ran all the way to the garage.
Furthermore, blood splatters were found in Peter’s vehicle, both of which were a match for the victim. Authorities also discovered one of Peter’s weapons with live ammunition inside at Judy’s home in Blythe, California, as well as a military-issue shovel with dirt on it.
Despite the fact that Peter’s body had not been found, the police believed they had enough evidence to arrest Judy and prosecute her with murder.
What Has Happened to ‘Judy Valot’?
Judy insisted on her innocence and pleaded not guilty when she was brought before the court. Although a jury found her guilty of second-degree murder in 2000, the verdict was later reversed, according to the show.
Judy was tried a third time in 2005 after the jury was hung and could not reach a verdict in the previous trial. She was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
Judy was detained at the California Institution for Women in Chino, California, after her parole petition was denied in 2013.

Judy didn’t have any proof that Peter was cheating, in my opinion. He was described as a handsome man, and he may have had fans, but she never received proof that he was unfaithful.
I hope Peter’s remains are discovered sometime. It’s insane to imagine that Just could hide a body that well. She would have been out accusing someone else of cheating on her if there hadn’t been other evidence to indict her.
