Recap of ‘Snowpiercer’ Season 3 Episode 8

The episode 8 of Season 3 of ‘Snowpiercer,’ titled ‘Setting Itself Right,’ begins with Ben and Alex notifying Layton of Melanie’s possible survival.

Alex discovers a little automobile parked on one of the train lines, with Melanie perhaps trapped inside, dead or alive.

Layton grows dubious of the whole situation when Alex admits that their source of information is none other than Wilford. Despite this, he chooses to divert the train in order to locate Melanie.

Asha notices a significant level of sulphur dioxide after rerouting. Layton observes an enormous presence of the deadly gas in front of the train as she examines the readings. Wilford is called into the engine room by Layton to discuss the situation.

The engineer assures the passengers that the train will not be affected by the gas. In the meantime, Bess and Miss Audrey begin to form a bond.

The possibility of Melanie’s return frightens Lilah Jr., who travels to see Mrs. Headwood to discuss methods to assist Wilford. The scientist takes a portion of LJ’s skin and pulls it away without explaining its purpose.

Roche spends his time with his daughter, who finds comfort in each other as Anne’s absence hurts them both. Zarah brings her baby to meet Wilford and asks him whether he purposefully steered the Snowpiercer into dangerous terrain.

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 8 Ending Explained

Is Asha Dead or Alive in Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 8?

Javi and Sykes proceed to railway carriages after entering the dangerous zone to ensure that the toxic gas does not infiltrate the Snowpiercer.

They discover a breach in the agriculture car, which has spread to neighbouring vehicles. Sykes tries to fix it but passes out after inhaling the gas. Following Ben’s instructions, Layton and Asha dress up and arrive at the spot to repair the break.

They locate the points where the gas enters the train. Layton, on the other hand, is unable to close the gap by going down via a small window.

Asha slaps him as he decides to come out of the costume and risk his life to save the train passengers.

As they travel to New Eden in search of Melanie, Asha understands that the Snowpiercer cannot afford to lose its leader. To keep Layton from coming out of the suit, Asha slaps him, only for her to come out as well.

She gives up her life for the good of the Snowpiercer’s members, particularly Layton, because she recognises the significance of his presence on the train and maybe once they arrive in New Eden.

Without taking any precautions, Asha fills the gap and prevents the harmful gas from entering the train, saving humanity from yet another disaster. Unfortunately, she pays the price with her own life when she inhales the gas and dies.

The Snowpiercer is saved from becoming a moving mass coffin thanks to Asha’s altruistic action. Due to the toxic vapours, the Snowpiercer travels through the dangerous zone without any further casualties.

To honour Asha’s sacrifice, Layton declares that he would unflinchingly guide the passengers of the train to New Eden. More than ever, Layton recognises the importance of doing whatever he can to improve the lives of his fellow citizens, particularly so that Asha’s sacrifice is not in vain.

Layton’s life, which Asha saves by giving her own, becomes more significant as a mentor for his fellow humans.

Does the Snowpiercer Locate Melanie

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 8 Ending Explained: Is Melanie found by the ‘Snowpiercer’? Is She Alive or Dead?

Layton, Alex, Ben, and others discover the engineer’s logbook as they arrive at the research station to return Melanie. Melanie writes in her journal that she is going to walk into the cold and die in order to save the data she has gathered, leading the pirate train crew to believe she is dead.

Wilford, on the other hand, notices some signals coming from France and confirms with Alex that they aren’t from the pirate train, persuading Melanie’s daughter that her mother is still alive.

Alex tells Ben about the information, and he understands there’s a potential Melanie could have escaped via a small rail car.

Despite Layton’s decision to reroute the train in order to find Melanie, the hazardous gas-filled region blocks the Snowpiercer’s path to the rail car. Despite the fact that Ben and Alex become involved in the gas breach, Asha’s sacrifice allows them to escape the zone alive.

Alex and Ben locate the rail car, which may or may not be transporting Melanie, dead or alive, after crossing through the region. Melanie, according to Layton, is the only one who can withstand the freeze on a shoestring budget.

Melanie is most certainly alive within that vehicle, given that a third party (other than the Snowpiercer and the pirate train) transmits signals.

Melanie may have used the rail car to flee the research station and avoid certain death. She may have found a means to stay alive while waiting for the Snowpiercer to spot her, despite the limited resources available within the small backup or emergency carriage.

One hopes to see Melanie alive as the Snowpiercer locates the rail car, even though she is on the verge of death.
