Evil Dead Rise (2023) – The forthcoming thriller is anticipated to be an independent entry in the venerable horror genre, unconnected to either the first three films or the 2013 reboot.
The latest movie, which shifts the action from the woods to the metropolis of Los Angeles, follows the tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is thwarted by the emergence of flesh-eating demons known as Deadites.
The spooky first teaser offers a detailed peek at the terror to come and teases a tonne of jump scares and gore.
A cheese grater is firmly pushed against someone’s knee in one of the more gory scenes, while one of the many scary scenes features a woman who has been possessed, clutching her daughter’s arm through a barred door.
The upcoming movie, written and directed by Lee Cronin, stars Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, and Nell Fisher. Jayden Daniels, Billy Reynolds-McCarthy, and Tai Wano are additional cast members.
Bruce Campbell, who played the series’ first leading man, is on board as an executive producer alongside Sam Raimi, the man who created the Evil Dead.
Yesterday (January 3), Campbell teased the release of the teaser through Twitter, writing: “Even though I’m not in this movie, as a producer I’m all over this movie like a cheap suit. You might say that I had a hand in it, I suppose.
Later on, Campbell assured the audience that Evil Dead Rise would be “the deadliest one yet.”
In addition to the trailer, the movie’s official poster with the frightening slogan, “Mommy loves you to death,” was only recently made public.
