In the world of Severance, Lumon Industries is a place where surprises can be found literally around every corner. In Season 2, viewers met Miss Huang, the young, smart, and confident deputy manager who quickly made an impression with her mysterious presence and unique skills. From her memorable entrance in the first episode to her unexpected performance on the theremin in Episode 4, Miss Huang has shown that she is more than just a new face at Lumon.
Sarah Bock, an 18-year-old student at Northwestern University, plays Miss Huang. Her brief but striking exchange with Milchick early on — “Why are you a child?” “Because of the year I was born.” — raised questions about how someone so young could hold such an important position at Lumon. It looks like those questions will be answered in later episodes.

THE RISE OF SARAH BOCK
Bock is not new to the arts, but she is new to acting in movies. She liked the challenge of learning the theremin for her role, even though she already knew how to play the piano and guitar. “I figured I could pick it up quickly,” Bock said, “but it was definitely more complicated than I was expecting.”
Bock has done voice work and had a part in the independent film Bruiser, which starred Jalyn Hall from All American. It was truly impressive how she was cast in Severance. An executive producer named Ben Stiller said this about her: “She has such poise, intelligence, and sensitivity, but she can also put on an intimidating front.” She’s made the show better.
Sarah Bock is charming in more ways than one. Mark’s actor, Adam Scott, said she’s the best at Wordle. Tramell Tillman, who plays Milchick, said, “She and Adam play all the time, and she always beats him.” It’s the same!”
Tillman had a lot of good things to say about Bock as a co-star. He said she was professional, funny and always interested in learning more about the world of Severance. He made a joke, “The relationship between Milchick and Miss Huang is definitely more tense than the one between Tramell and Sarah.” He also said it had been great working with her.
THE CRIME GETS DARKER
Miss Huang’s story isn’t over yet. In Episode 6, new information about how she got to Lumon will be shown, which could lead to a deeper backstory and possibly more secrets. In Episode 5, Miss Huang will play the theremin again, but things might not go as planned.
Fans are sure to love this new character, Miss Huang, because Sarah Bock is so good at what she does and her story is so interesting.
