What happened to Milton Berle

Pam & Tommy‘ follows star & sex icon Pamela Anderson and musician Tommy Lee’s whirlwind courtship and the mayhem that ensues after a private tape of the couple is stolen.

The story of the robbery’s odd mastermind, a frustrated electrician named Rand, is also told, adding to the intrigue.

Rand tries to benefit from the stolen footage through his connections in the adult film industry.

That is how Uncle Miltie becomes involved in the astonishing series of events. In reality, according to the plot of the show, Uncle Miltie is the first to realize the tremendous value of the confidential, stolen recording.

Could Uncle Miltie’s character be based on a real person, given that a large amount of ‘Pam & Tommy’ is based on true events? Let’s have a look.

Is Uncle Miltie a fictional character or a Real person?

Yes, Nick Offerman’s Uncle Miltie from ‘Pam & Tommy’ is based on a real person. After Rand Gauthier delivered Anderson and Lee’s stolen video to him, Milton Owen Ingley, also known as Michael Morrison and affectionately known as “Uncle Miltie,” got engaged in the circumstances following the tape.

Of course, one could argue that the recording changed Ingley’s life, but the loud, larger-than-life man is much more than what is depicted in the Hulu series.

Ingley was born in Texas in 1946 and studied at Texas Tech University before joining the US Army and fighting in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. By 1977, he had been engaged with adult films, appearing in them ostensibly as a favour to his then-girlfriend Darleen.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Ingley appeared in over a hundred and forty adult films. He subsequently started directing and producing them as well, with many of them coming out of his own production business, Chandler Studios.

Gauthier presented the original of Anderson and Lee’s soon-to-be-viral tape to Ingley about 1997. Before discarding of the original tape, the two collaborated to raise funding and swiftly created several duplicates of it.

They launched a website on the (then) new internet and began receiving orders after being unable to view it through production companies.

Ingley also went to Amsterdam, presumably in 1997, to keep running the site, making identification and prosecution by the famous couple extremely hard.

But, of course, he was also well-known for his ability to have a good time. As per his old friend Sharon Mitchell, Ingley returned to Texas in 2004, ostensibly due to poor health, and subsequently moved to Arizona to just be near family.
