Do Ares and Raquel End up Together in Through My Window Across the Sea

Do Ares and Raquel End up Together? – Before venturing into our expectations of “Across the Sea,” we decided to assess if our disinterest in “Through My Window” was unusual or just plain dismal. What really perplexed us, however, was its IMDb rating of 5.5 out of 10, leaving us questioning its worthiness as an entertainment piece. Attributing its stellar rating more to fans’ appreciation of the novel it’s based on than to intrinsic film quality could explain why two sequels were approved.

Due to Ares and Raquel’s relatively uninteresting characters, it is hard to imagine why their journey beyond expressing “I Love You” would hold our interest. Therefore, “Through My Window: Across the Sea” seems to follow in its predecessor’s gloomy footsteps; therefore, this article aims to provide a brief synopsis of its narrative while providing insights into its story.

Through My Window Across the Sea Plot

“Through My Window: Across the Sea” Plot Summary

Raquel, immersed in her literature studies at University College Dublin, and Ares, beginning medical school studies in Stockholm, find comfort in long telephone conversations that often forget their studies and the world outside their doors. Though Raquel may have difficulty keeping her focus due to medical school demands, we can’t help but marvel at Ares’s remarkable feat in managing it all. Raquel seemed to have achieved published author status after “Through My Window” (2022). However, “Across the Sea” reveals that she has only just completed her manuscript and still needs to submit it for publishing. Yoshi is still invested in Raquel but temporarily setting aside his own feelings to act as her agent, while both Ares and Raquel have managed to cultivate a small but loyal fan base on campus.

Once Ares surprises Raquel, the couple retreats to his beach house, where they engage in activities alongside his brothers and friends. “Across the Sea” centers around these few days spent at Ares’ cottage. While tensions arise from characters objectifying each other, tensions reach a crescendo when Ares discovers that Gregory knew nothing of Raquel’s relationship with Ares while Raquel learns of Vera joining their trip – all this while Raquel and Ares attempt to repair their fractured relationship through reconciliation efforts consciously trying to repair their relationship; all while hoping Vera comes along for this trip – only complicate matters further!

Vera stands in stark contrast to Gregory, her attention-seeking behaviour making it clear she views Raquel only as an obstacle in her pursuit of Ares. Raquel’s insecurity increases, yet even Ares cannot assuage it; still, she trusts him despite feeling distant from him; Gregory informs Raquel about how his high school sweetheart left him for Ares, who was already involved with another girl at that point despite previously knowing of Ares’ reputation for playing players; now Raquel must acknowledge Ares’ history of callousness more seriously than before.

Raquel’s mood changes when she sees a photo on Ares’ phone showing Vera wearing his shirt. Reacting in frustration to this discovery, Raquel decides to engage Ares in a game of truth or dare by asking whether anyone else besides Vera has worn any other items of his clothing. Raquel poses another direct question at this point, and Vera knows where this conversation is heading. Unsure where Raquel’s questioning might take them, Ares seems disoriented at first; while Vera knows exactly where Raquel stands, – leading Raquel to conclude that they have indeed cheated on Raquel herself.

Do Raquel and Ares end Up Together?

As they moved through their respective lives, Raquel and Ares faced their own unique set of obstacles. Ares attempted to hide from Raquel that her manuscript was almost ready for publication, while Raquel struggled with whether she made the right choice by attending medical school instead. Ares explains to Raquel how Vera provided him comfort during difficult times, until one of their gatherings where Ares became intoxicated and woke up with his shirt on Vera. Now the couple finds themselves at an impasse; Ares decides to stay home while Raquel attends an event, during which Vera informs Ares of no involvement between them; yet Ares remains upset because Raquel had believed otherwise.

Artemis proves a disappointing partner, lacking respect for Claudia, which ultimately causes their breakup. Additionally, Apollo and Daniela become embroiled in arguments regarding their future together. Yoshi attempts to move on by courting Anna; however, he soon becomes aware that his feelings for Raquel remain, and this causes Anna’s heartbreak. Yoshi realizes the necessity of quickly collecting his thoughts and setting priorities. Yoshi takes off on an illicit motorcycle as Raquel and Gregory leave a party.

Unfortunately, Yoshi suffers an accident and falls off a cliff; Ares witnesses this scene and rushes to Gregory’s side; unfortunately, his efforts at CPR are in vain, and Gregory dies shortly after that. Raquel is overcome with grief upon seeing Yoshi’s lifeless body. While neither Ares nor Raquel had pursued relationships with Vera or Gregory, both seemed drawn together at some point but never communicated their desires fully due to complications.

At the end of “Through My Window: Across the Sea,” Raquel confronts Ares to demand why he could not save Yoshi. Her question may seem harsh, but Ares cannot blame his academic shortcomings on Raquel’s interruptions during the school year. Raquel and Ares parted ways, with Ares returning to Stockholm to reconsider his commitment to medical school. Yoshi had sent Raquel’s work off to a publishing company which decided to adapt it into a novel form.

While Vera sends Ares a text message intended to apologize to Raquel, his true intention remains unknown; Raquel closes her window seems to suggest either that he sent it or she either didn’t receive it and doesn’t care for its contents; Ares no longer has access to communication channels with his former flame and no means to communicate effectively.
