Grosse Pointe Garden Society, an exciting drama on NBC, keeps revealing dark secrets and tangled relationships in its newest episode, “Pollination.” The show takes place in the wealthy suburb of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and is about four people in a gardening club who share a dangerous secret. In episode 5, things get more tense as mistakes from the past come back to haunt the present, relationships are put to the test, and the mystery surrounding a dead body gets deeper. Let’s take a look at what happened again.
BIRDIE STRUGGLES TO CONNECT WITH FORD
At the beginning of the episode, Catherine is still shocked by what she learned in the previous episode: Gary’s wife came to see her and told her about her husband’s mysterious disappearance. Tucker doesn’t seem to care about the news when she tells him, which makes their already troubled marriage even worse. At the same time, Gary is seen being thrown out of a van in the parking lot where he was taken. After getting hit and hurt, he quickly runs away.
The newest member of the garden society Birdie (Melissa Fumero)and Joel are on a second date and talking about their past. Joel tells Birdie that he failed a polygraph test and Birdie talks about all the relationships she has had that didn’t work out. Ford, who isn’t close to Birdie but is her son, watches their meeting. At the same time, Alice and Doug get back together. To surprise her, Doug fills a room with puppies. Across town, Brett is having a terrible time on a date.

CATHERINE CONFRONTS A BRUISED GARY
The four people in the gardening club are setting up bird feeders the next morning. Brett’s phone is full of notifications from dating apps, which is making Alice mad. At the same time, Birdie tells Ford that he won’t get his scholarship money if he doesn’t work on his college applications. But Ford tells her she’s not welcome and wants her out of his life.
A real-estate agent Catherine (Aja Naomi King) is shocked to see Gary at work again. She pulls him away and sees that his face is hurt and one of his teeth is missing. He tells her to stay away and not tell Tucker what happened when she asks. Catherine is suspicious after getting this vague warning.
FLASH-FORWARD: DISPOSING OF A BODY
Four friends stand over a dead body in the future and try to decide who will drive it to its final resting place. Catherine feels guilty as she takes responsibility. Birdie has been chosen to go with her. When the car runs out of gas, though, their plan changes. Things get even more complicated, even though Catherine tells Birdie to stay calm.
CATHERINE UNCOVERS A DISTURBING SECRET ABOUT TUCKER
Right now, Catherine talks to Tucker about Gary’s health. Tucker doesn’t seem to care, which makes Catherine even more suspicious. Gardening club Manger Brett (Ben Rappaport ), on the other hand, spends the night with a new woman named Cricket, who is a single mom. He invites her over again, which makes it seem like they really are connected.
Later, Alice goes out with Catherine and Birdie because she feels ignored by Brett. Catherine burns an appetizer by accident, which sets off the smoke alarm. It falls over when she tries to turn it off, showing a hidden camera. Catherine is shocked and thinks Tucker might be responsible since he just put the device in.
Tucker told Catherine that he put the camera there because he doesn’t trust her anymore when they talked about it the next morning. He also says that he planned to kidnap and beat Gary. Catherine can’t say anything after hearing this shocking confession.
BIRDIE STRUGGLES WITH MOTHERHOOD, CATHERINE TAKES CONTROL
Birdie sees an old flame and complains about not being able to connect with Ford. He tells her that no matter what, being a mother means fighting for her child.
Because Catherine wants to get back at Tucker, she comes up with a big plan. She dresses in lingerie and acts provocatively on purpose to tease whoever is watching through the hidden cameras. She wants to get back in charge, but the act makes her feel vulnerable.
At a restaurant, Brett meets Alice and Doug and introduces Cricket to them. Alice is shocked to learn that Brett and Cricket went to the same game. Doug thinks Cricket and Brett would make a great couple, but Alice doesn’t agree and says she might be jealous. Cricket also sees that Alice is possessive of Brett, which is a sign that their friendship might not be as simple as it seems.
FLASH-FORWARD: A DESPERATE SEARCH FOR GAS MONEY
In the future, Catherine and Birdie are having a hard time paying for gas. When they search the body, they find a pill bottle that Catherine plans to sell. But the seller wants more, so Catherine has to give up her bracelet. In the end, this bracelet is a very important piece of evidence.
BRETT AND ALICE’S FRIENDSHIP HITS A BREAKING POINT
Doug tells Alice that she should let Brett go. Brett tells Alice that they should stop being friends when she confronts him at work, which breaks her heart.
At the same time, Birdie does something very bad: he goes to see Ford’s mother to talk about his future. She is adamant that someone step in before he throws away his education.
A NEW CLUE ABOUT THE DEAD BODY EMERGES
As Gary puts boxes away, he pulls out a pill bottle that looks familiar—it’s the same one Catherine found in the future. This makes it seem like Gary could be the body.
After six months, Catherine, Birdie, Alice, and Brett meet at the graveyard. At the same time, the gas station worker got Catherine’s bracelet and read Tucker’s name written inside it. This new information sets the stage for even stranger turns to come.

Episode 6, “Plant Parenthood,” written by Alexandra Cunningham, keeps the tension high. It will air on NBC on March 30, 2025. Now that Tucker’s lie is public and new information about the body is coming to light, the stakes have never been higher.
