Law & Order: Organized Crime is a popular crime drama that keeps fans interested with its intense stories and complex characters. Since the first episode, people have been hooked on the show about Detective Elliot Stabler and his team as they fight organized crime in New York City. There have been some problems on the way to Season 5, though, which has made fans wonder what will happen next.

Is Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Delayed or Canceled?

Season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime has been pushed back, but it has not been canceled. Fans were thrilled when NBC picked up the show for a fifth season in April 2024; before Season 4 even ended. The news that the show would be moving from NBC to Peacock for its next season was a big change.
Unfortunately, production ran into problems in November 2024, when showrunner John Shiban quit. This was the fifth time in just four years that the showrunner had changed. The show’s original showrunner, Matt Olmstead, joined the production again as an executive producer to help with the last few scripts. Most of the scripts for the 10 episodes of the season are finished now, and production is said to be halfway done.
Law & Order: Organized Crime has had problems in the past with the frequent changes in leadership. The show’s serialized and darker tone makes it stand out from other Dick Wolf productions, which makes it hard to keep a consistent vision. Shiban’s departure after overseeing Season 4 temporarily stopped work on the show. Even though Olmstead’s involvement has brought some stability, Season 5 has not yet been given a new showrunner.
Danielle Moné Truitt, who plays Sergeant Ayanna Bell, has also talked about how excited fans are for the new season. In a social media post, she made it clear that she doesn’t know when the premiere will be and asked fans to let her know when they do.

What’s Next?

Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 is still being made, even though it has been pushed back. You can watch the new episodes on Peacock. This is the first season that can only be watched on that platform. Fans can watch old seasons of Peacock while they wait for news about the show’s return.
The path to Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 has not been easy, but fans of the show are still holding out hope. Since filming has started again and most of the scripts are done, Elliot Stabler’s next chapter should be out soon, even if it takes a little longer than planned.
