Surya Toha Murder: What Caused Surya Toha’s Death?

Surya Sari-Prihatin Toha, 41, was the wife of Munawar Toha. The couple relocated from Indonesia to Florida and raised two young boys there.

Surya was extremely involved with her children’s school, and they had been married for about ten years.

On March 23, 2010, the stay-at-home mom drove her two sons to school, but then abruptly vanished. Munawar reported his wife missing to the authorities the next day.

Surya’s hunt ended two weeks later, on April 6, 2010, when investigators recovered her automobile from a lake in Pompano Beach, Florida. She was in the front passenger seat, shrouded in rubbish bags.

Surya was bludgeoned to death, according to an autopsy, and officials believe she was hit in the skull at least five times.

Everyone was stunned by the brutality of the murder, and the evidence seemed to point to the person closest to her.

Who Was Responsible For Surya Toha’s Death?

The investigators spoke with Munawar, who appeared to cooperate at first. But they didn’t think his actions were consistent with someone whose wife had gone missing.

As a result, suspicions about his role in Surya’s disappearance grew. Munawar was working for the Florida Department of Transportation at the time, and there was a lake nearby.

The detectives decided to search the surrounding region for any possible clues.

They discovered an area where the fence had been torn down. Surveillance cameras were fortunately aimed in the general vicinity, and the footage was examined.

Surya’s automobile was seen pulling into the parking area with a bicycle attached the night of her abduction.

The driver then pushed the vehicle into the sea before riding away on his bike. Despite the poor footage, authorities believe Munawar was behind the wheel.

According to the episode, a pickup truck that matched his vehicle afterward appeared in the parking lot.

Munawar later came upon a bicycle at a friend’s residence, according to witnesses. There were also doubts about Munawar’s relationship with Surya.

Munawar was domineering, according to Surya’s best friend, who notified the authorities. According to the documentary, Munawar accused his wife of having an affair, according to a handful of the couple’s close acquaintances.

Surya was also killed in the house on March 23, according to evidence found in the kitchen and garage.

Munawar’s phone calls were recorded while he was being imprisoned on murder accusations.

He decided to hire a hitman to murder eyewitnesses who were about to speak against him, according to authorities.

Munawar, on the other hand, spoke to an undercover cop who was a hitman. Munawar’s actions in the days following the murder seemed to point to him as the perpetrator.

Surya’s DNA was found on the tape around his neck, but it didn’t match him.
