Season 4 of ‘Snowfall’ debuted on FX on February 24, 2021, and ended on April 21, 2021.
The 4th season consists of ten episodes that range in length from 41 to 58 minutes apiece.
Here’s what we know about the upcoming fifth season. FX renewed ‘Snowfall’ for a 5th season on March 23, 2021.
Damson Idris (Franklin Saint), the show’s primary actor, was named one of the executive producers for the fifth season in July 2021.
Season 5 began filming on September 8, 2021, following the COVID-19 guidelines. With the gradual restoration of normalcy following the epidemic, we should expect a smooth filming schedule for the next episode of the show.
Season 5 of ‘Snowfall’ is expected to premiere in the second quarter of 2022, taking into account the time required for filming and post-production.
Who could be among the cast of Snowfall Season 5?
- Damson Idris (Franklin Saint),
- Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata),
- Amin Joseph (Jerome Saint),
- Angela Lewis (Aunt Louie)
- Carter Hudson (Teddy McDonald/Reed Thompson),
- Reign Edwards (Melody Wright),
- Michael Hyatt (Cissy Saint), and

are also expected to return for the following season.
Given Alton’s fate in the fourth season’s final episode, it’s unclear whether Kevin Carroll (Alton Williams) will return for season 5.
Furthermore, De’Aundre Bonds’ character Skully dies in the season 4 finale, therefore he is unlikely to return.
Devyn Tyler, well known for her role as Ardelia Mapp in ‘Clarice,’ has been cast as a series regular in the fifth season.
Tyler will play Veronique, a woman with a law degree who is sensitive and determined.
What Could the Plot of Snowfall Season 5 Be About?
Franklin is surrounded by problems at the close of the 4th season of ‘Snowfall.’ Alton, Teddy’s father, goes to a radio station to broadcast what he knows about Teddy and the CIA’s role in the city’s drug trade.
On-air, he also discusses Teddy’s alias “Reed Thompson” and threatens to reveal Reed’s true name.
Reed is outraged and demands that Alton be punished, with a conflicted Franklin caught in the midst.
Franklin tries to get Alton to work for him. Skully arrives to kill Franklin, but fails and injures himself instead.
When Alton and Reed meet, their verbal spat escalates into a gunfight before being interrupted by Cissy, Franklin’s mother. Franklin’s parents agree to leave the city, which Reed agrees to.
However, we witness Reed aiming a gun at Alton in a cliffhanger. Skully, meanwhile, dies in the hospital after his attempt to assassinate Franklin fails.
Melody and Franklin’s relationship is tumultuous, as she is about to reveal his role in her father’s death.
The 5th season is supposed to settle all of the questions about the futures of Alton, Franklin, and Melody, as well as all of the other major characters.
We’re still waiting to see if Reed shoots Alton and what Franklin does about Melody’s potential threat.
With the “War on Drugs” looming on the horizon, Franklin will be forced to make a number of difficult decisions in order to preserve everything he has built over the years, regardless of his feelings for his family.
As the drug epidemic reaches its apex, Season 5 may see the LAPD militarised to combat the growing violence in the neighbourhoods.
With so many problems and roadblocks in Franklin’s path, it will be intriguing to see where his desires lead him.
We can anticipate Franklin to walk on blood and ruin no matter which path he takes. The 5th season, though, will reveal how far he will go.
