[Netflix] The Snow Girl, also known as La Chica de Nieve in Spanish—is a suspenseful and dark psychological thriller. The show is based on a book by ‘Javier Castillo’ and is about a journalist named Miren Rojo (played by Milena Smit) whose life gets tangled up with the scary world of missing girls, evil games, and the haunting memories of her own past. People were on the edge of their seats during the first season as Miren tried to figure out what happened to Amaya Martín, a young girl who went missing during the 2010 Cavalcade of Magi in Málaga. But as Season 2 goes on, the risks are greater, the mysteries even more complicated;and the stakes even higher.

The Snow Girl Season 2 Story Plot

At the start of the second season, Miren Rojo is a famous author. Her book The Snow Girl, which is about her search for Amaya, is a bestseller. But her fame hasn’t changed how she works as a reporter. When she is told to cover the murder of Allison Hernández, a teenage girl, Miren knows right away that this is not a normal case. Laura Valdivia, another girl who went missing years ago from the same elite high school, Los Arcos Málaga, has strange ties to the murder.

When Miren gets a mysterious envelope with a scary picture of Laura inside it, along with an invitation to take part in “The Soul Game,” a dangerous psychological experiment, her investigation takes a dark turn. A mysterious person known as the Crow of God runs this game and makes its players go through scary tests of their morals and courage, which often end in death. As Miren digs deeper, she finds a web of secrets that connects the school, a religious cult and several unsolved crimes.

The season is full of ups and downs, and Miren has to deal with both outside threats and the ghosts of a traumatic event from her past. Eduardo Vergara, her mentor, dies suspiciously, leaving her emotionally broken but more determined than ever to find the truth. She makes friends with new people along the way—like Jaime, another journalist, and Nacho (Hugo Welzel), Laura Valdivia’s younger brother—who turns out to be both a friend and a threat.

In Season 2, Miren’s journey is one of surviving, being strong—and finding herself. The lines between investigator and participant become less clear as she gets more involved in The Soul Game. The game makes her think about her worst memories like the night she was raped, which has been a trauma for years. She gets closer to the truth with each test but they also test her physically and emotionally to the limit.

At the end of the season, there is a terrifying series of events that leave Miren fighting for her life. At first, Nacho seems like a grieving brother who wants justice for Laura, but he turns out to be the new ‘Crow of God’ the mastermind behind the deadly game. Nacho blames Miren for not solving the case sooner because he is angry and sad about his sister’s disappearance. He sets up one last, cruel test for Miren by putting her in chains and making her fight for her life.

Miren and Nacho fight on a deserted beach, and the fight is tense and bloody. Nacho stabs Miren, but she has the strength of will to back up her attack and stab him back. Both fall down, hurt and unconscious. A police team led by Inspector Belén Millán and her partner Chaparro gets there just in time to bury Nacho and save Miren’s life.

But Miren is very different after going through this ordeal. The emotional scars from the events of the season are much worse than the physical ones. Laura Valdivia is found to be alive and living with—Alberto Mendoza. This makes Miren’s journey even more complicated. Laura’s choice to leave her family and start a new life without them judging her makes Miren think about what justice and victimhood really mean.

Miren is no longer known to most people by the end of the season. Many people who knew her miss her a lot, including Jaime, who tries hard but fails to find her. In the last few scenes—a scary discovery is made: the police raid a facility connected to the Slide organization, a notorious group that kidnaps and beats up young women. One of the pieces of evidence is a tape from 2009 that shows Miren being abused. People are left with more questions than answers after this revelation. Where is Miren now? Has she gone away to heal—or is she making plans for how to get back at the people who hurt her?

Fans are very excited about the possibility of a third season because the second season ends on a cliffhanger. Is Miren going to come back to keep fighting for justice? What new mysteries are going to be found? One thing is for sure: The Snow Girl is now one of the most interesting and thought-provoking thrillers on TV and Miren Rojo’s story is far from over.
