Michelle Carter’s Parents: Where Are They Now?
When Michelle Carter, then 20 years old, was found guilty in 2017, David Carter pleaded with the judge for a light sentence in the best interests of his and Gail’s little daughter. “I pray to God that you will consider that Michelle was a disturbed, fragile kid in an extraordinarily difficult situation who made a fatal mistake,” he wrote in an open, emotive letter.
“I’m certain she was only trying to do what she thought was best for Conrad… She will live with the consequences of her actions for the rest of her life, and I know she will be a better person as a result.”
Furthermore, Michelle’s father attempted to explain the situation to the judge by saying, “I am confident the medication she was taking damaged her mental condition, making it difficult for her to discriminate between good and wrong.”
In terms of where her parents are now, since picking her up from prison upon her release in January 2020, the Carter family has remained largely out of the public eye. All we know is that they are still in Plainville, where David is the Vice President of Sales for a forklift manufacturer and Gail is a Design Coordinator for a real estate brokerage.
