‘You’ Season 4 Part 1 Ending, Explained
Adam (Lukas Gage) and Roald (Ben Wiggins) accuse Joe (Penn Badgley) of being the murderer and interrogate him after he discloses to Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) that he is being framed and stalked by the eat-the-rich killer. Joe then accuses Roald of murder, claiming that Roald’s passion for Kate was the motive; however, no one believes him, and he is forced to hide in the woods.
Before Roald can catch up with Joe in the woods, Rhys suddenly appears, knocks him unconscious, and locks him and Roald in a cellar. Joe awakens to the horrible revelation that Rhys is the eat-the-rich murderer and wants him to kill Roald so that the murders can be put on Roald.
Joe is uncomfortable with his current circumstances but decides to follow Rhys’s plan. Rhys explains that, before knowing about Joe’s problematic past, he had planned to frame Joe for Malcolm’s murder. When Joe and Roald attempt to interfere, Rhys sets Hampsie ablaze and flees. With Kate’s help, the two can escape just in time. Rhys announces his candidature for mayor, and Joe pledges to eliminate him.
Ed Speleers was asked if he was surprised by Rhys’ confession, and he responded, “I knew it was going to happen from the very beginning.” Ed also showed his killer demeanor in the sequel, stating, “In order to accept the role, I was told what to expect while reading the scripts early on.”
Ed said, “I was very excited. It was an opportunity to delve deep into complete loony mind, really, and try and understand what on earth this man’s up to and why he’s up to it. And it’s a lot of fun. I just had the chance to have so much fun playing that kind of role, which sounds strange … it was a lot of fun.”
‘You‘ Season 4 Part 1 is available to stream on Netflix. On March 9, You Season 4 Part 2 will make its debut.
