“And Just Like That…” Season 2 Episode 4 “FREE MAX: And Just 09 HD” Recap
Carrie and her former podcast co-host Jackie Nee begin their program by having breakfast together. At some point during their meal, Carrie spots Enid desperately trying to avoid her, yet knowing she needs to speak with her, Carrie reluctantly engages in conversation. These interactions between Carrie – who always stays polite even in awkward situations – and Enid (who lacks tact) make for both entertaining and uncomfortable interactions; yet Enid surprises Carrie by inviting her to attend the launch party of Vivante (which means “French for alive”).
As Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) and Harry (Evan Handler) celebrate their empty nest, they decide to enjoy intimacy together but run into difficulties when Harry experiences dry ejaculation, prompting an extended discussion among Charlotte, Miranda, Carrie and Anthony Marentino (portrayed by Mario Cantone). Charlotte visits a doctor to be assured that everything is okay before going home with Harry for another intimate evening together; by the end of the episode, everything returns to normal through Charlotte’s intervention.
Brady, the son of Steve (played by David Eigenberg), quickly recognizes something is amiss with his parents when Steve installs a speed bag in their bedroom and uses it regularly while at home. Miranda had been showing signs of depression after returning from California but chose to suppress her emotions when Brady expressed a wish to take time off school. Harry and Miranda’s therapy session concluded successfully, with him agreeing to participate.
Miranda and Carrie visit Che’s apartment to welcome them back, only to find Lyle – Miranda and Carrie’s former partner – already there. Miranda attempts to go along with it when Carrie leaves and considers engaging in a threesome relationship between Lyle, Che, and herself; but her hesitation ends up hurting herself emotionally in the process.
“And Just Like That…” Season 2 Episode 4 Ending Explained
Carrie approached Enid with the hope that she would promote Carrie’s book for her since she needed to do it herself. Unfortunately, Enid declined due to fear of being overwhelmed with similar demands; Seema came over to console Carrie by assuring her that transactional relationships may still be acceptable, depending on circumstances.
Carrie attends Enid’s launch party and notices Gloria Steinem there, realizing she will work together on Enid’s magazine project. At first, she is enthusiastic, but soon her excitement wanes when they start talking and discover more of the truth about Enid.
Enid’s invitation was initially for Carrie to contribute an article, yet instead, Enid quickly changed course when Enid asked for a significant donation of $100,000 from her instead. Surprisingly, Enid seemed unafraid about approaching Carrie for financial support despite referencing his death as proof that Carrie had become wealthy enough.
Carrie could have felt insulted by Enid’s request if she hadn’t confided in Seema already; in her response to Enid’s words, Carrie implied that giving into Enid’s proposal would open up similar demands from others. Instead, Carrie and Enid have reached an understanding: Enid will promote Carrie’s book in exchange for a donation from Carrie.
