How Did Casey Crowder Die

What Caused Casey Crowder’s Death?

Casey Bess Crowder was born in February 1989 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Casey was a senior at Watson Chapel High School who was dedicated to her family and guarded her younger brothers. The 17-year-old had previously participated in athletics for her school. Casey drove down to her boyfriend’s residence in Pickens, Arkansas, on the night of August 26, 2006.

According to the show, Casey called home early the next morning, reporting she had run out of petrol and was stranded alongside a highway in Dumas, Arkansas. The family was initially unconcerned, but that changed when the youngster did not return home later that day.

Who Killed Casey Crowder and Why?

Authorities looked at any available security camera footage from businesses around where Casey Crowder’s automobile was discovered abandoned. They honed in on a distinctive-looking truck that drove approaching Casey’s automobile at 6:42 a.m. on the day she vanished.

She had placed four unanswered calls between 5:53 and 6:39 a.m., according to the show. As a result, the police assumed she was kidnapped shortly after.

Furthermore, minutes after it was first noticed, the same automobile was seen heading in the opposite direction. Kenneth Osburn, a local truck driver, was eventually identified by the authorities. They assumed it was his truck that had been captured on video.

Nancy Dunn, an Osburn family friend, later testified that on August 27, she observed a girl slumped over in Kenneth’s truck. Nancy assumed it was his daughter at the moment, but she later saw the daughter elsewhere not long after.

The police spotted what they thought were defensive wounds on Kenneth’s body, according to the show, but he claimed they were caused by a dog. His phone pinged from where Casey’s car was located around 7 a.m., and it pinged from where the corpse was subsequently recovered about half an hour later, according to phone data.

Kenneth was found at the crime scene as a result of this evidence. Furthermore, DNA evidence linked him to the crime, according to reports. Kenneth finally admitted to the murder.

What Happened to Kenneth Osburn And Where Is he Now?

Kenneth Osburn allegedly pretended to help Casey obtain gas before attacking her, according to the episode. While no evidence of sexual assault was found, the teenager’s torn underpants suggested Kenneth may have taken her to the forested area to rape her.

After being convicted guilty of capital murder and kidnapping, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in January 2008.

However, the Arkansas Supreme Court later overturned the conviction. The confession was found to be inadmissible because the police continued to question Kenneth, notwithstanding his request for an attorney.

Kenneth, then 54, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping in June 2014, only months before a fresh trial was scheduled. Kenneth was sentenced to 30 and 10 years in prison as a result of his actions.

Casey’s mother expressed relief after the plea, saying, “The trials are so stressful on our family.” We’re relieved that he’s finally admitted to being guilty.” Kenneth remained in prison after his conviction was overturned and was given credit for time served, which amounted to nearly seven years.

He is still detained at the Delta Regional Unit in Dermott, Arkansas, according to prison records. In 2025, Kenneth will be eligible for parole.
