What Caused Diane Cunningham’s Death?

Diane Cunningham was a resident of the Salt Creek RV Park in Port Angeles, Washington, where she lived in a mobile home. She was a cheery, kind-hearted woman who felt quite at home in her neighbourhood.

Despite the fact that she was close to her family, the 65-year-old wanted to live alone. She also enjoyed making friends and was trusting of the majority of the people she encountered, which tragically led to her brutal death.

Diane stopped returning calls and texts towards the end of September 2014. Her family was first unconcerned, but as time passed and no news was received, her daughter, Tamra Wilson, became increasingly concerned.

On October 6, 2014, Tamra drove over to Diane’s mobile home to see if she was okay, only to discover her mother’s body. The police were called right away, and when they came, they saw blood splattered all over the mobile home’s walls. Diane died nine days before her body was discovered, according to an autopsy, and her death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

Despite the lack of evidence of forceful entry, the authorities were confident that the murderer knew the victim well. Diane’s car, on the other hand, was discovered to be missing from the house.

Who Killed Diane Cunningham and Why?

The initial investigation into Diane’s murder was slow since there were few leads at the crime scene. Police began interrogating Diane’s acquaintances and were able to piece together a timeline of events.

Diane was murdered in the last week of September 2014, according to the timetable. On September 27, 2014, CCTV footage from the 7 Cedars Casino and a nearby Walmart revealed the victim shopping. Surprisingly, Diane was seen with another man on both of those surveillance videos, who was later identified as Ari Lee King.

Ari had also been missing since September, and his family had no idea where he was. Diane’s car was shortly discovered in Malheur County, Oregon, and stories stated that witnesses saw Ari driving it even after she died. The cops also combed through a number of CCTV tapes and saw Ari driving the same automobile on a Washington ferry surveillance video.

Despite the fact that the video evidence and witness account provided ample justification for Ari’s arrest, the major suspect was unable to be found. The investigation eventually led to the hamlet of Juntura in Oregon, where a local diner pointed law enforcement investigators in the direction of Ari’s whereabouts. On November 13, 2014, he was discovered living beneath a bridge near the town and was detained.
