Duncanville, the animated family comedy, has been renewed for a 3rd season by Fox, just ahead of its Season 2 launch.
Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions, The Simpsons veteran Mike Scully, and his wife, former Simpsons writer-producer Julie Scully, are behind the series.
Despite the absence of a compelling lead character, the show has received positive feedback for its sense of comedy.
The voice acting, as well as the environment and characters, were particularly commended by the critics.
Some viewers, however, did not appear to love the idea that Duncan is voiced by Amy Poehler.
In any case, the show has a nostalgic aspect to it that is rather enjoyable.
So, if you’re eager to learn when the new season of your favourite show will premiere, here’s everything we’ve discovered!
Duncanville Season 3: When Will It Be Released?
Season 2 of ‘Duncanville’ premiered on Fox on May 23, 2021, and concluded on August 30, 2021. The 2nd season contains 12 episodes, each lasting approximately 22 minutes.
Here’s what we’ve learnt about the third season of the show. Fox renewed the series for a second season on April 6, 2021.
The announcement came more than a month before the start of the second season. Given the animated show’s strong credentials, this is not surprising.
Mike Scully and his wife Julie Thacker Scully, who are recognised for their work on the long-running success “The Simpsons,” created the show alongside Amy Poehler of “Parks and Recreation.”
“Watching Amy [Poehler] bring her extraordinary skill to ‘Duncanville’ both on and off the screen these past two seasons has been a fantastic experience,” Michael Thorn of Fox Entertainment said when the Fox sitcom was recommissioned for a 3rd season.
“Duncanville’s entire cast and crew, led by two of television’s best showrunners in Mike [Scully] and Julie [Thacker Scully], continue to deliver a show that represents everything fans expect from our animated series;
and I’m looking forward to another season of ‘Duncanville’ to relive my teen years, thanks to one of the most irreverent comedies on the air,” he added.
However, no specific release date has been announced.
Season 2 was picked up in April 2020, but it didn’t premiere until May 2021.
However, season 3 was ordered well before the release of season 2, so fans may not have to wait as long for the next season.
If the production team sticks to its typical schedule, season 3 of ‘Duncanville’ is set to premiere in first quarter of 2022.
Who could be in the 3rd season of Duncanville’s voice cast?
Duncan and his mother, Annie, are both voiced by Amy Poehler. Duncan’s father, Jack, is played by Ty Burrell.
Riki Lindhome (Kimberly), Joy Osmanski (Jing), Zach Cherry (Wolf), Yassir Lester (Yangzi), Betsy Sodaro (Bex), Rashida Jones (Mia Abara), and Wiz Khalifa (Wolf) are among the show’s other voice actors (Mr. Mitch).
As a result, we can expect the majority of them to reprise their individual roles in the highly anticipated third season.
In addition, several guest stars appear in season 2, including Retta (Sandy), Adam Scott (Nick), Nick Offerman (Zeb), and Aubrey Plaza (Nina).
As a result, fresh voice performers are likely to be included in the third cycle.
What is the Plot of Duncanville Season 3?
Duncan and his family go on vacation in the show’s 2nd season, although Duncan’s friendship with Kimberly continues to worry their parents.
Jing receives much attention from Jack and Annie when the two siblings are sent to therapy camp. Jing and Jack also form a children’s birthday band, with Annie as their manager.
Kimberly, on the other hand, finally gains popularity at school after her braces are removed.
Duncan’s relationship with his father may be further explored in the third season.
It’s unclear how Kimberly’s newfound celebrity will effect her interactions with Duncan; it’ll be interesting to see whether it changes anything.
But, thanks to Duncan’s incredible imagination, we can be sure that there will be more adventurous trips in the next season.
