“iNumber Number: Jozi Gold” Plot Summary
Officers Chili and Shoes devise an alternative plan after their initial attempt at arresting Hyena Man fails due to a lack of evidence. Their plan involves infiltrating his gang with Chili playing an insider role in executing theft – Colonel Van Zyl, his team, and Brigadier are also part of this covert operation. Chili manages to attract Seeng, Dimo and Dikeledi (three members of his gang) when attending a gathering at a club – convincing them of an urgent mission they must accomplish together.
Together they plan and execute a bank robbery against a business owner infamous for mistreating and underpaying his employees, hoping to secure as much gold as possible during their escape from pursuit. Unfortunately for Zyl, Chili’s tracker and communication device accidentally get left behind while changing clothes, rendering her powerless to track them.
So the gang manages to flee with their stolen gold wealth. To convert their spoils into coins of value, they bring Chili back to their base, where their mother assists in melting and forging. Chili bears a striking resemblance to Lerotholi Thoriso II (Thorn), son of Lesotho dictator Lerotholi Thoriso I, whom the criminal organization wants to exploit to undermine Thor’s control of Lesotho’s sole gold mine, which he illegally exploits while seeking revenge for their father’s death. Their ultimate aim is to steal an enormous shipment worth $500 Million from a refinery to give it back to its people in Lesotho.
At the same time, Shoes manages to track down Chili and discovers her gang’s ambitious plan – one that no police force could possibly achieve. Chili relies on Shoes as her shield from law enforcement scrutiny for the forthcoming operation; she is taken aback to discover the Hyena Man is actually one of her group, though eventually accepting this revelation. Their plan involves swapping Chili for Thor at Thor’s hotel on the day of gold refinement to steal its contents before fleeing back to Lesotho using Thor’s private jet; Shoes Zyl and Brigadier Donga’s informant, The Hyena Man, collaborate on tracking Thor’s convoy and devising an intercept strategy against it.
Who will emerge victorious – criminals or the police? The outcome of this high-stakes game between them remains in the balance as both vie for dominance and achieve their respective goals.
