James Felix Bridger, better known as Jim Bridger was born on March 17, 1804, in Richmond, Virginia, to English parents who had moved there. Even though Bridger grew up in a mostly urban area, he was about to start a journey that would take him across the wild unexplored parts of America. He was one of the most famous frontiersmen in American history because he was naturally tough and liked to take risks.
Bridger has always been interested in the wild frontier, even when he was young. At age 13, he lost his parents and became an orphan. But in real life, Bridger gave up in the end, and the fort wasn’t destroyed right away like the show makes it seem like it was. Instead, the Mormons fixed it up and then took it apart to stop outsiders from having an effect on it.
Berg explains that Fort Bridger was seen as a valuable asset by both the US military and the Mormon church for protection.
