Where is Brandon Boudreaux Now? – The three-part docuseries “Sins Of Our Mother,” which is being directed by Skye Borgman, follows the story of how Lori Vallow transitioned from a devout LDS churchgoer and mother of three to a prophecy-spouting lunatic who is currently in custody on murder charges related to the deaths of her 6-year-old son, JJ Vallow, and 16-year-old daughter, Tylee Ryan.
On Wednesday, September 14, the true-crime documentary Sins of Our Mother debuted on Netflix.
The Netflix documentary series that explores the case of Lori Vallow Daybell in great detail. It can only be described as both fascinating and upsetting. To fully get to the subject’s heart, it covers almost every facet of her life, including her relationships with her family, Chad Daybell, and her apocalyptic faith. Thus, it stands to reason that the attempted shooting of Brandon Boudreaux, Lori’s niece’s then-husband, in 2019 also appears to be connected. Let’s discover more about him and the incident, shall we?
Who Is Brandon Boudreaux?
According to reports, Brandon Boudreaux happily wed Melani Leigh Cope in 2008, only to gradually warm up to her large, blended, extended maternal side of the family. The father of four genuinely thought things were going well, but when his wife started hanging out with her aunt Lori Vallow’s end-of-the-world-focused religious organization, everything took a sharp turn for the worse. Brandon once frankly told The Arizona Republic that Melani abruptly demanded a divorce around June 2019, leaving him emotionally upset and totally blindsided.
According to the Netflix production, on October 2, 2019, Brandon was shot as he was pulling into his driveway while he and Melani were in the process of legally dissolving their relationship. On that fateful Wednesday, he had actually left his house with his children at 7:25 am to drop them off at school, only to return at 9:14 to find a Jeep Wrangler idle parked on the wrong side of the roadway. A gunman then pointed a muzzle directly at Brandon through the back tinted windows and started shooting; the bullet narrowly missed Brandon’s head and struck the door frame of his car instead.
Fearing for his life, Brandon sped off in his car. Nevertheless, the Jeep followed him for a short while before leaving the neighborhood and letting him essentially call the police. Soon, it was discovered that the car’s Texas license plate belonged to Lori’s fourth husband, Leland “Charles” Vallow, who had been fatally shot on July 11, 2019, by her brother. As if that weren’t enough, according to police reports, Alex Cox, Lori’s brother, was also the triggerman for this attempted shooting. However, he is ineligible for prosecution because he also went away in 2019 (from natural causes).
What Happened to Brandon Boudreaux and Where Is He Now?
As a result of the incident, Brandon once remarked, “I went into hiding with my kids. All I could think was, ‘Someone’s shooting at me. What do I need to do? I need to hit the gas and get out of here.’“
In terms of his current situation, it appears that the Gilbert, Arizona, resident still likes to keep a low profile even though he is no longer formally missing. Brandon seems to be working as a mentor and an entrepreneur right now, doing his best to let the past go while maintaining a desire for justice in each situation.
We say in every instance because Brandon earlier made it seem as though he thought Lori and her fifth husband, Chad, were also genuinely to blame for the deaths of their respective wives, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell.
“I’m just a person, so what do I know? But yeah, I mean… I just wonder why you couldn’t just get divorced like normal people and just go be together if that’s what you wanted,” he said.
Since then, the pair have been accused of killing Tammy and Lori’s two young children, and Lori has even been charged with conspiracy to murder Charles. It is crucial to note that on March 3, 2022, Arizona’s prosecutors declared Chad would not be accused of conspiring to murder in connection with Brandon’s attempted murder case. Melani, Brandon’s ex-wife, has not been formally implicated in any manner despite his assertions that she is a part of the plot.
