Anthony Strangis: What Happened to Him?

Anthony grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts, with parents who divorced when he was a child. He had a shady past before meeting Sarma, which the authorities eventually discovered.

Anthony had allegedly abandoned his first wife, Stacy Avery, and his eight-month-old baby, despite having an arrest record in Florida and having served time in jail for impersonating a police officer.

He claimed to have inherited $5 million from an aunt during their brief marriage. Stacy reported before leaving that Anthony had also pawned her jewelery.

On Twitter in 2011, Sarma came across a man named Shane Fox. On the microblogging site, he had been corresponding with Alec Baldwin, an actor, and Sarma’s friend.

Soon after, the two hit it off and began dating, meeting in person for the first time in November 2011. Anthony allegedly promised to pay her money to pay off her investors and erase her obligations at the time, but this never happened.

Despite various disagreements, the two married a little over a year after they first met in person.

However, things began to shift gradually. Anthony would tell about a strange brother who was skilled at spying and was always keeping an eye on them. He told Sarma that her computer had been hijacked and that she needed to contact Will Richards, his tech expert associate, and provide him with all of her credentials.

Of course, will didn’t exist in actuality; Anthony, according to reports, was the one who gained access to all of Sarma’s accounts.

In addition, Anthony had borrowed money from Sarma on a number of occasions. Another strange assertion he made was that this was part of a series of “cosmic” tests he had to go through a few years ago. “He assured me I’d be powerful in ways I couldn’t comprehend,” Sarma later recalled.

I’d have unrestricted resources to expand my brand over the world and film the documentary I’d always wanted to do – the one that would eventually alter people’s minds and aid in the abolition of factory farming.

Basically, I could accomplish whatever I’d been secretly fantasising about doing to change the world. I could help anybody I wanted and stay young doing it for the rest of my life.”

Authorities eventually discovered that Sarma had transferred $1.6 million from her corporate account to her personal account, the majority of which Anthony had spent in casinos. He was known as Shane to the employees at Sarma’s restaurant, and when she wasn’t in town, he acted like the boss.

He erroneously claimed in August 2014 that he would buy Sarma’s company “on paper.” Sarma had previously told investors that she intended to sell the company to a man named Michael Caledonia, who turned out to be Anthony himself.

In May 2016, Sarma and Anthony were apprehended in a hotel in Sevierville, Tennessee. After Anthony ordered a pizza under his true identity, the authorities traced them down to that place.

Anthony “used cult-like practises to manipulate her, including gaslighting, sleep deprivation, and sexual humiliation,” according to Sarma’s defence. All of these allegations were vehemently refuted by his lawyers.

Anthony eventually admitted to four counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. He was sentenced to time served and was placed on probation for five years. [In the event of a violation, Anthony would face a term of five to fifteen years in prison.]

“He’s satisfied,” his lawyer stated, “particularly now that it’s been revealed that she played an equal and complicit role in this.” Anthony’s probation will expire in May of 2022. His lawyer stated that his client preferred to serve his probation in Massachusetts, where he was born.

Anthony, on the other hand, appears to have kept a low profile and avoided the spotlight since then. He most certainly still resides in Massachusetts, based on our information.
