Season 5 of ‘Outlander’ began on Starz on February 16, 2020.

The finale aired on May 10, 2020, and episodes were released weekly. There are 12 episodes in the 5th season, each lasting 51-63 minutes.

We have exciting news about the new season of the show! On May 9, 2018, Starz renewed ‘Outlander’ for the 6th season.

There will be eight episodes in the sixth season, with a 90-minute season debut. Filming started in February 2021 and finished in June 2021. Considering all official information, post-production, and pandemic-related delays, the sixth season will be released sooner than you think.

The network has confirmed that ‘Outlander’ season 6 will premiere in the first quarter of 2022 on June 1, 2021, World Outlander Day.

It doesn’t end there, though! There’s even more good news for the show’s fans. Starz recommissioned the series for a 7th season on March 14, 2021, due to the show’s huge popularity.

In June 2021, the network stated that the 7th season would be a 16-episode season, compensating for season 6’s truncated length.

Given the high demand for ‘Outlander’ content and the fact that Gabaldon is still writing the book series, we may expect to see more of the show in the future.

Who is in the cast of Outlander Season 6?

Ned Dennehy, on the other hand, will not reprise his role as the evil Lionel Brown, as his character’s arc ends in season 5 with his death.

Duncan Lacroix will also not return because Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser dies tragically in season 5.

What Could the Plot of Outlander Season 6 Be?

The Frasers’ ups and downs at their home base, Fraser’s Ridge, are chronicled in the 5th season. Jamie and Roger are shocked by the Battle of Alamance, and Murtagh is killed.

Claire uses a pseudonym to provide medical assistance to the common people, and Lionel Brown and his minions punish her horribly for it.

On a more upbeat note, Brianna and Roger marry, Lionel Brown dies, and Claire and Jamie reconcile.

Season 6 will be based on Diana Gabaldon’s sixth book, “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” from the Outlander series.

‘An Echo in the Bone,’ the seventh book in the series, will most certainly be referenced. “We’re getting closer to the Revolutionary War in Season 6, and Jamie and Claire will meet a new group of settlers in and around Fraser’s Ridge,” showrunner/writer Matthew B.
