Stacy Feldman Murder: How Did Stacy Feldman Die? Who Killed Stacy Feldman? – Stacy Feldman, a 44-year-old mother of two from Denver, was savagely murdered in the house she shared with her husband, Robert, and their young children in March 2015. Robert stated that when he picked up the kids from the carnival that day in the afternoon and arrived home, he discovered his wife unconscious in the bathtub. Years passed as the cause of death was still “undetermined.”
Only when Stacy confronted her husband of ten years about his romance with a woman he found on Tinder that morning did it become clear who had committed the crime. Further investigation revealed stunning information regarding the death and demonstrated that Robert orchestrated the incident to appear accidental. His arrest in 2018 was made possible by a series of startling findings and evidence.
After a protracted trial in April 2022, nearly seven years later, a jury convicted him guilty after deliberating for less than three hours. Friends and family of the victims expressed their relief after Robert’s conviction and punishment of life in prison without the possibility of parole, saying that “justice has been served.”

Why Did Stacy Feldman Pass Away?
Denver, Colorado, was Stacy Feldman’s home at the time of the incident. In 2005, she wed Robert Feldman in Montreal, Canada, and the two went on to have a son and a daughter. The 44-year-old was a well-known figure in the neighborhood; she served as President of the parent-teacher organization at Southmoor Elementary School in Denver and worked for a nonprofit that supports the quest for treatment for a liver disorder.
Robert discovered his wife unconscious in the shower sometime in the early evening of March 1, 2015, and he contacted 911 to report the incident. When first responders came, she had already been declared dead. Stacy had injuries at the time of the medical examiner’s autopsy, but those wounds might have been from attempting to revive her.
The cause and method of death were judged to be unknown, despite the doctor’s statement that drowning could not be ruled out. However, in 2017, a different physician who saw the autopsy results claimed that Stacy’s wounds resulted from an attack and were unrelated to attempts at resurrection. He believed she had been strangled or smothered and had also endured blunt force trauma.
Who Killed Stacy Feldman and Why?
After finding Stacy unconscious in the bathroom when he first got home from a workout, Robert Feldman told the authorities that he dialed 911. A few months later, though, Robert recanted his story, claiming that his wife wasn’t home when he arrived midday. Until Susan McBride’s contact with the police in June 2015, there had been no developments in the investigation.
Susan revealed to the police that she had met Robert in February 2015 while he was going by a different identity on Tinder. He had informed her that he and his wife were no longer together. The two had sex during their second encounter, Susan stated. But she thought Robert was lying and discovered Stacy’s email address later. As a result, on March 1, 2015, Susan sent Stacy an email asking whether they had been split up.
Susan claims that Stacy confirmed that she and Robert were still together. Susan added that she was “done with him” and that Robert had previously cheated on her. A few hours earlier, Robert claimed to have discovered his wife unconscious in the bathroom and had phoned 911. Then, in December 2017, the authorities enlisted outside assistance to investigate Stacy’s death’s cause and circumstances.
Stacy’s upper extremities were hurt, and the doctor, William “Bill” Smock, later testified that this was likely the result of “knee pressure being exerted from a straddled assailant.” The medical professional thought she had either died from strangulation, suffocation or a mix of the two. He added that Stacy had a watch on her wrist and that she had been wearing clothes at some point when she was attacked. These contradicted Robert’s assertion that she had fallen into the tub and died after slipping and falling while in the shower.
After Stacy learned of his affair, the police thought Robert had killed her. Even though he was detained in February 2018, there were multiple hiccups before the case was tried in court. Dr. Bill Smock was called to testify by the prosecution, and he stated that Robert’s DNA was found in the blood found under one of Stacy’s fingernails. He had also collected her life insurance during the period following her passing.
Robert was ultimately tried in April 2022. At the time, Susan McBride’s testimony was essential to the prosecution. Additionally, it was said that Robert attempted relationships with at least five additional women in the period following the passing of his wife. Stephanie Schumaker, one of them, also accused him of sexual assault. In the end, Robert was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, ending the tragic case that ultimately resulted in the loss of both parents for two children.
