Episode 6 of Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol Recap
Sato is not only removed from the case but also compelled to retire early in episode 6, titled ‘Diophantine Pseudonym.’
This doesn’t mean she’ll quit working on the case. She starts assisting Katherine on a personal level and contacts Jonathan.
She promises to return the pyramid and the capstone to them in exchange for information on Sophie.
Sato later admits to Katherine that she mistakenly converted Zachary into an asset and so caused his death.
A Leviathan member locates Sophie and obtains the information he requires before killing her.
Meanwhile, Langdon discovers that the capstone’s box has writings that can only be viewed in the light at Mal’akh’s lair.
He persuades Mal’akh to place Peter with him, and the two of them try to flee their captors together. They use Peter’s Freemason ring to open the box, and it turns out to be a Rose Cross.
Langdon and Peter act as if they’re having a disagreement. The former, seemingly enraged, tosses a chair at the camera.
Peter knocks out the Janitor who runs into the room to stop them. Mal’akh confronts Peter and Langdon outdoors as they try to flee.
Mal’akh then exposes his true identity as Zachary. Sato arrives with the cops, and the Janitor gives his life to allow Mal’akh to go.
