Her husband, Joel, leaves her for his secretary, and she receives the shock of her life. When Midge does an unexpected and strong performance at a comedy club, she realises she has a talent for comedy.
As a comedian, she has a number of interesting personal and professional ties. The late real-life comedic legend Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby) is arguably the most important. When Midge is about to start her profession, they meet.
They help each other get out of jail. In the following seasons, Lenny makes multiple appearances in Midge’s life, providing advice on how to manage the perils of stand-up comedy.
A tangled relationship develops between the two as a result of the process. Until season 4, when the will-they-won’t-they part of their dynamic comes to an end, it walks the line between friendship and romance.
This is what you need to know if you’re wondering if they’ll end up together in ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.’

Will Lenny and Midge End Up Together in ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’
Before deciding to create an intimate scene for them, the show’s writers took their time to develop these characters and set up their bond.
The chemistry between Lenny and Midge has been evident from the pilot episode. Lenny has been doing stand-up comedy for a lot longer than Midge.
When he appears, he gives her important information about the field. The mutual regard and fascination that these two have for one another is undeniable.
It all comes together in a stunning scene on a wintry New York evening in the season 4 finale.
After the authorities raid the burlesque/strip club where Midge performs, Lenny and Midge flee to the former’s hotel, where they make love. We don’t know if they have a future together because the real Lenny Bruce died in 1966 at the age of 40 from opiate overdose.
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ hints at Lenny’s drug addiction in its fourth season. In the fifth and final season, this will almost certainly become a key storyline factor.
With an interview, Kirby mentioned that in season 4, they intended to delve more into the character of Lenny Bruce. “We felt a bit of an obligation to start touching on the components of Lenny Bruce’s life that kind of lead up to his dying young,” the star of “The Gossip Girl” said.
“This season, we’re bringing Lenny Bruce down to Earth a little bit and exploring it a little bit.”
Midge’s likely reaction to the loss was also a topic of discussion for him. “I’m not sure how Midge will feel now that Lenny is gone,” Kirby remarked.

“Hopefully she’ll be genuinely upset about it, and then she’ll do the healthy thing and go on and find happiness for herself.”
As a result, Lenny and Midge’s storey is likely to end tragically. It’ll be fascinating to see how they get there and how it affects the protagonist.
