A former New York City cop was sentenced to 48 months in prison after pleading guilty to a murder-for-hire plan. She has already served 30 people. In the midst of a difficult divorce and custody fight over their son, Cincinelli hired her one-time boyfriend, John DiRubba, $7,000 to hire a hitman to kill her estranged husband, Isaiah Carvalho.
The unusual story of an NYPD detective suspected of concocting a murder-for-hire plot against her then-husband — and her then-daughter boyfriend’s — made headlines in 2019. After all, as NBC’s ‘Dateline: Hit List‘ revealed, Valerie Cincinelli was determined to kill both Isaiah Carvalho and the teen girl, only for her colleague John DiRubba to expose her.
So now you know everything there is to know about Valerie’s past, she claimed transgressions, her involvement in the judicial procedures, and her current whereabouts.

Valerie Cincinelli, Who is She?
Valerie Cincinelli joined the police force in her early twenties in 2007, and it looked that she devoted herself not only to her career but also to her family. She married, had a daughter, and on the surface, she appeared to be a good wife and mother.
However, when her first spouse filed for a restraining order against her in 2014, things began to shift. Valerie married Isaiah Carvalho Jr. at that time and gave birth to a son with him. Even still, the domestic situations are said to have continued over the years in this marriage.
Valerie was placed on modified duty (stripped of her badge and firearm) as a domestic violence officer in the 106th Precinct in Queens in 2017 as a result of her personal problems. Despite this, Valerie and Isaiah had current restraining orders against each other by May 2019, with the latter filing for divorce five months previously, purportedly fueling Valerie’s actions.
As a result, in February 2019, the mother of two allegedly began planning the assassination of her then-husband, Isaiah Carvalho Jr. All of this was carried out with the help of her lover, John DiRubba, who eventually alerted the authorities.
As a result, on May 17, 2019, with the help of both John and Isaiah, the FBI carried out a sting operation in which an undercover agent posing as a hitman provided Valerie “evidence” of her husband’s death in the form of a faked photo. They then demanded $3,000 to carry out the hit on John’s 13-year-old daughter (on top of the $7,000 she’d previously provided her accomplice to hire a triggerman).
After that, Valerie inadvertently began discussing her alibi with the informant/her boyfriend, even destroying two phones and requesting that he remove damning texts.
What happened to Valerie Cincinelli and Where Is She Now?
Valerie Cincinelli was captured with all of this information, as well as audio or video recordings of her conversations with John DiRubba and the officials who went to inform her of Isaiah Carvalho’s “death.”
As a result, the 34-year-old was charged with two counts of murder-for-hire and one count of obstruction of justice and was held without bond after federal prosecutors determined she was a “risk to the community.” Valerie tried to defend herself as best she could, with her family putting the burden squarely on John’s shoulders, but it was in vain.
After Valerie pled guilty to obstruction of justice in April 2021, the murder-for-hire accusations were dropped, and she was only sentenced to four years in November. During her sentence hearing, she cried and said, “I’m apologising from the bottom of my heart.” “I can’t believe I let myself get to that horrible place,” she says.
As a result, the retired New York Police Department officer is now detained at the Federal Medical Center – Lexington in Kentucky. She is only anticipated to stay until October 12, 2022, at the age of 37.
