Carla Wilhite, Who is She?
Carla Sue Wilhite was just 18 years old when the Girl Scouts went on a two-week camping trip at Locust Grove in June 1977, according to accounts. She worked as a counselor at the Kiowa camp, where she was in charge of the children. She was particularly taken with Doris at the time, describing her as “simply a gorgeous and radiant child.” We wanted to make sure she had a good start and a fantastic experience because she was the only African-American and a first-time camper.”
Lori and Michele were in the same tent as Doris. Despite the fact that the females had never met before, they seemed to get along swimmingly. The three of them were normally quiet, according to Carla, but they were just as noisy as the other tents that night. Carla went to bed on June 12, 1977, after an arduous night.
However, she heard moaning noises from the area where the trio’s tent was placed around 1:30 a.m. on June 13. Carla shone her lights in that direction but saw nothing suspicious. As a result, she assumed it was an animal and returned to her slumber. Carla awoke at 6 a.m. to find three sleeping bags in the area where she had heard the noises the night before.
Doris’ body was nude below the waist, and her hands were bound behind her back when the counselor approached. Lori and Michele were also found dead in the other sleeping bags, which Carla discovered. Authorities were dispatched to the area almost immediately.
What Happened to Carla Wilhite and Where Is She Now?

Carla returned to the location in 2015 as part of an alumni group, despite the fact that the camp had been closed since the event. She prayed with the others and eventually expressed her satisfaction with her decision to return.
Carla appears to be living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the moment. She appears to be an Assistant Professor at a local university, according to our information.
