Recap of the Ist episode of Impeachment: American Crime Story
The show’s 3rd season premiere is named “Exiles.” As the enthralling controversy begins to take shape in front of our eyes, the episode takes place across multiple timelines.
It begins in 1998, as Monica Lewinsky prepares to relocate from Washington, D.C. to New York City.
Linda Tripp, a friend, has invited her to lunch. Monica, on the other hand, is taken to a hotel suite by Federal Agents and interviewed after she arrives at the designated location.
The scene then switches to 1993, when we see Linda working at the White House Counsel’s Office.
Linda meets with Lucianne Goldberg, a literary agent, and proposes the idea of writing a book about her boss Vince Foster, who died by suicide.
Fast forward to 1994, when Paula Jones accuses Bill Clinton of sexual assault after he made unwanted passes toward her.
Linda finally meets Monica in 1996, when she starts working in her department. Monica, who previously worked in the West Wing, might provide new rumour fodder for Linda’s autobiography.
As a result, Linda attempts to compel information from Monica, who admits that she is intimately linked with someone significant. Linda connects the dots and discovers that the person is Bill Clinton.
