How Did Rodger Keller Die

What Caused Rodger Keller’s Death?

Rodger Frederick Keller was born in the city of Detroit, Michigan, in the year 1942. He was always fascinated by nature as a child. Roger went to Wayne State University in Detroit, where he worked as a lab technician in the biology department while studying. In 1972, he played a key role in organising Detroit’s first pride march. Later, he worked as a horticulturist at the University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens.

Rodger retired on disability in 2002 and relocated to Key West. He lived alone there and was involved in the community. The authorities received a call from a man called Michael Sox in the early morning hours of March 23, 2006.

He told the cops that he had heard a gunshot coming from Rodger’s house a few days before. The 63-year-old was found inside with a gunshot wound to the face and his wallet stolen.

Who Killed Rodger Keller and Why?

Michael Sox had an unusual narrative to tell the cops. On March 20, 2006, he claimed to have heard a gunshot. When he rang the doorbell, though, no one responded. Michael also claimed that he saw blood inside and witnessed a man driving away in Rodger’s car. Others, on the other hand, answered no when he asked if he might use their phone to contact 911.

After that, Michael waited a few more days before reporting Rodger’s car missing to the police. The house had no traces of forced entry, and Rodger was found wrapped in a blanket. This prompted the cops to conclude that the killer was familiar with him. There was also a bloody shoeprint, which the killer may have left behind.

They discovered Rodger’s credit cards being used in Georgia as part of the probe. The authorities were able to track down Johnny Ray Holt as a result of this. He had been living with Rodger for around two years when the incident occurred.

Rodger was well-known in the neighbourhood at the time for taking in young gay males and assisting them with jobs or sobriety. Rodger, on the other hand, went to the cops after discovering Johnny had faked one of his $10,000 cheques. Then Johnny moved from Florida to Alabama, where he met his girlfriend.

However, four days before the murder, Johnny stormed into the home of his then-parents and girlfriend, stealing their guns and car. He then travelled down to Florida and killed Rodger. Johnny was arrested in Georgia when he was 24 years old, with the help of his then-girlfriend.
