Michele Neurauter Murder: Where is Karrie Neurauter Now? – Karrie Neurauter, a former engineering student who admitted to assisting her father in the murder of her mother in August 2017, is currently on parole. Neurauter was freed from the Albion Correctional Facility on January 16, according to authorities.
Karrie Neurauter, then 19 years old, was given an ultimatum by her father in 2017: help him kill her mother or risk him killing himself. Lloyd Neurauter, 47, allegedly told Karrie that he couldn’t afford to pay child support to his ex-wife Michele Neurauter, 46, any more. Michele and her ex-husband had three daughters, one of whom was still living with Michele as a juvenile. According to Karrie, Lloyd Neurauter’s answer was to murder Michele, and he had threatened to kill himself if she did not assist him. Karrie ultimately chose her father and drove him from his Rochester motel to her mother’s Corning home. After strangling Michele, Lloyd begged Karrie to assist him in staging the suicide.
Lloyd Neurauter pled guilty to first-degree murder in 2018. He informed the court that he planned the murder and duped Karrie into assisting him. He was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole and is currently incarcerated in the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York.

Every child is afraid of having to choose between two parents. But what happens when the decision you make becomes a life or death situation? ‘48 Hours: Karrie’s Choice‘ is a show that airs on CBS News. ‘Karrie’s Choice’ depicts Michele Neurauter’s murder and how her middle daughter, Karrie Neurauter, was forced to become a murder accomplice by her father. Let’s look into the case in more detail and figure out where Karrie is right now.
Karrie Neurauter: Who Is She?
Karrie Neurauter, the second child of Michele and Lloyd Neurauter, had a beautiful childhood. She grew raised in Corning, New York, as part of a nice family with two other siblings. Her parents were high school sweethearts who married soon after graduation, and things seemed to be going swimmingly.
Unfortunately, the show implies that Lloyd was harsh with his children, and that some of his acts could be considered abusive. Karrie and her siblings, on the other hand, remained close to their father, and the future seemed to hold nothing but happiness for the entire family.
Unfortunately, Lloyd’s veneer was shattered when he abruptly filed for divorce. Karrie’s older sister moved in with their father, and her parents were involved in a long and tumultuous custody dispute over their youngest daughter, all while Karrie was preparing for college. Karrie was already attending college in Rochester when she learned the news of her mother’s death on August 28, 2017.
Although Karrie appeared scared at first, Llyod later disclosed that on the day of the murder, he was assisting Karrie in moving into her college apartment in Rochester. Using CCTV footage, the police discovered that Karrie and Llyod had gone out in the former’s car the night of the incident and did not return until the next day. With enough doubt in their minds, the cops brought Karrie in, who broke down and admitted to her role after being questioned.
What happened to Karrie Neurauter and Where Is She Now?
When asked about it, Karrie said Llyod had forced her to choose between killing Michele and watching her father commit suicide. Karrie even claimed that her father refused to pay child support and was willing to go to extraordinary lengths to avoid the divorce’s ramifications. In the end, Karrie chose her father in the midst of a horrible decision and drove him to her mother’s house on the night of the murder. Karrie also said that she assisted Lloyd in staging the scene as a suicide to throw investigators off.
The police were able to make their arrests and provide closure to the victim’s family owing to CCTV evidence and Karrie’s confession. Karrie first pleaded guilty to second-degree murder when she was put on trial, but her father later confessed and said that he had misled his daughter. She was eventually allowed to plead guilty to second-degree manslaughter by the court.
In 2018, she was given a sentence of one to three years in state prison. Karrie was released from the Albion Correctional Facility on January 16, 2020, after being granted parole and placed under community supervision in Essex County, New Jersey. Karrie appears to be live in New Jersey at the moment, despite the fact that she now prefers a life of quiet and avoids social media.
