‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 14 Recap – This Is Us fans; your wait is finally over. The NBC drama has finally given viewers the answers they’ve been waiting for after six seasons of wondering who Kevin would end up with. So, in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14, did Kevin choose Sophie, Cassidy, or the wedding singer, Arielle, as his lifelong love? ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 14 “The Night Before the Wedding” Recap
Kevin, six years old, is shown writing Valentine’s cards for the girls in his class at the start of This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14. The hour then jumps to the morning of Kate and Phillip’s wedding. Kevin is watching Arielle perform Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Cassidy also stops by before the rehearsal supper to compliment Kevin on his appearance, which he reciprocates.
Randall then confronts his brother, chastising him for spending the entire day staring at the door, waiting for Sophie to arrive at the venue. Randall cautions Kevin not to “create any trouble during their sister’s wedding” because Sophie is married. Sophie steps in just as Kevin declares that he and Sophie are “fine” and that “there’s nothing to worry about,” and the two exchange wistful eyes.
Sophie greets Rebecca, who believes she is still in college and is attempting long-distance communication with Kevin, who is standing nearby. To get away from one of Phillip’s inebriated family members, Arielle runs up to Kevin and hugs him. Madison and the twins intercept him as he leaves her to go to Sophie.
Sophie is subsequently found with the concierge trying to retrieve her misplaced bags. Since her husband, Grant, was unable to attend the wedding, he offered to drive her into town to shop for new outfits. The ex-husband and wife go to the dry cleaners to look through unclaimed garments because all the outlets are closed. Sophie discovers a stunning green gown for the wedding.
In This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14, Kevin and Sophie go to a convenience store to get food and toiletries. Sophie informs him that she is now a travelling nurse when they catch up. They decide to spend the rest of the day together and visit a winery, where Sophie reveals to Kevin that she is divorced. He hands her his jacket, and the two wander around the vineyard, chatting about their lives.
This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14 Ending: What happened the night before the wedding to Kevin?
In This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14, Kevin and Sophie return to the wedding venue. Kevin creates s’mores with his kids at night, all the while stealing glances towards Sophie. They meet in the elevator and proceed to Kevin’s room without saying anything.
Sophie’s blouse and bra fall off as Kevin and Sophie begin kissing. Kevin, though, remarks that her hair smells the same as they fall asleep on his bed. Sophie panics and puts her top back on, ignoring her bra. She tells him he should like the way her hair now smells. Kevin, perplexed, seeks clarification on what’s going on.
Sophie reveals to her childhood sweetheart that she and Grant used to have an inside joke about Grant pretending to fast-forward while Kevin was on TV. Sophie finally realised she couldn’t do it any longer since she’ll “never be able to fast-forward through you.” Sophie leaves his room because she refuses to go backwards. After all, they have so much history.
Kevin, who has been rejected, goes to the bar and orders a ginger ale. He sits with Arielle, who tells him that she likes to watch people and write song lyrics about them. Arielle reads Kevin the provocative lyrics she scribbled on a napkin and hands it to him.
Kevin returns to his room. He runs into Nicky in the corridor, who is bringing ice for him and Edie for reasons Kevin doesn’t want to hear. Nicky gives his nephew a metaphor about a game when Kevin tells him about his romantic problems. He informs him that just when he thought he didn’t have another shot, he found out he did.
Cassidy arrives, and she and Kevin enter Kevin’s room so that he may assist her in unzipping her dress. In his bathroom, she changes into her pyjamas. Kevin informs her of Nicky’s metaphor, which appears to suggest Kevin and Cassidy should be together. Cassidy reminds him that she isn’t his person and that he isn’t hers. Kevin and Cassidy refer to each other as their best friend in a tooth-achingly lovely exchange in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14.
‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 14 Ending Explained: Do Kevin and Sophie finally sort things out?
In This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14, Kevin wakes up alone the morning of the wedding. We finally catch up to Randall asking Kevin about the night before in a montage of some of the day’s happenings. Sophie is no longer married, Kevin informs his brother. “I knew it!” Beth exclaims as she overhears. This throws the case into disarray. I need to locate Madison.” Kevin emphasises his desire to avoid injuring Sophie once more.
Randall gives Kevin one of his great monologues in a confused manner. He mentions the Buffalo Bills’ four consecutive Super Bowl losses. Thousands, on the other side, believed the Bills had triumphed because some products were donated to countries in need. “The world is frickin’ insane, man,” Randall says, bringing everything full circle. It is illogical. But you and Sophie together make more sense than the majority of things. This time you’re not going to make a mistake. I’m aware of that.”
After Rebecca’s song, Sophie and Rebecca had a heart-to-heart discussion. “The timing is simply off right now,” Rebecca, who still thinks they’re married and 20 years old, tells Sophie. He isn’t prepared to meet you. He will be, but it will take some time. And I’m not sure if you can wait for that, I don’t know if I could. But when the time is right, he’ll be amazing.”
Kevin has no idea that Sophie has been set up for this interaction when he approaches her at the reception desk. She’s just had a conversation with Rebecca, who believes Sophie is twenty and that she and Kevin are having marital issues. She informs her that Kevin isn’t quite ready for her yet, but that he will be one day, and that he will be fantastic. Rebecca is completely unaware that this chat simply confirms Sophie’s thoughts. When Kevin arrives, she interrupts him before he can offer his big statement (did she hear about the NFL merch?).
She tells him she freaked out because she knows they are both the best versions of themselves right now, after twenty years of waiting, and she doesn’t want them to get together and fall back into old habits. She wants Kevin to love her for who she is now, not who she was in the past, and she wants to love him in return. Kevin breaks down in tears as he shows Sophie a Valentine’s Day card he’s had in his wallet since he was six years old, when they first met, that’s how much he’s carried her with him.
As a result, they kiss. They are in love with one other! And there is a round of applause. That’s a strange part, but it’s also very PearsonTM. This Is Us: This Is Kevin’s Wife comes to a close. People, we’ve arrived at the finish line. It’s hard to believe, isn’t it?
