Michele Neurauter Murder – How Did She Die and Who Killed her? Let’s find out her killer. The 46-year-old mother of three was discovered hanging from a rope on August 28, 2017, in what seemed to be a suicide. Police Chief Jeff Spaulding, on the other hand, had his reservations, describing a rope mark on Michele’s chin as “unsettling.” Michele’s mother, Jeanne Laundy, suspected her daughter had been murdered and put the finger on Neurauter’s ex-husband, despite the fact that he was more than 2,500 miles away on a job interview in California at the time Michele was discovered dead.

Karrie Neurauter, the couple’s 19-year-old middle daughter, was given an ultimatum by her father in 2017: either help him murder her mother or risk him killing himself. Karrie Neurauter received a one-to-three-year sentence in state prison. Lloyd Neurauter was charged with first-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison without the possibility of parole.

Michele Neurauter was discovered hanging at her Corning, New York, home on August 28, 2017, and investigators assumed she had committed herself. The case, however, quickly flipped on its head when witness statements and evidence suggested differently.

What Caused Michele Neurauter’s Death?

Michele Neurauter was 46 years old at the time of her murder. Michele was a loving mother who was well-liked by her friends, according to her neighbours. Michele’s friendliness was lauded by acquaintances, who claimed she was always willing to help anyone in need. Michele was also looking forward to a brighter and more independent life, despite being involved in a lengthy custody fight with her ex-husband, Lloyd Neurauter. Her ambitions, however, were dashed when a wicked act of rage ripped her life from her grasp.

When 911 operators learned of a possible suicide death at home in Corning, New York, they dispatched first responders right away. Michele was found slumped on the floor with a rope around her neck when investigators arrived on the scene. Although it appeared to be a suicide at first glance, the authorities quickly recognised it could have been something else entirely.

To begin, Michele’s chin had a strange ligature mark on it that could not have come from hanging. Michele’s family, on the other hand, argued that Michele had dreams for the future and refused to believe the suicide scenario. Even an autopsy couldn’t determine the cause of death, but following the perpetrator’s confession, it was determined that she had been strangled.

Who Killed Michele Neurauter and Why?

The authorities did not know whether Michele’s death was a homicide at the time of the initial investigation. Despite this, they resolved to leave no stone unturned and investigate every possibility that could have led to the murder’s solution. Michele’s mother, Jeanne Laundy, refused to believe her daughter had committed suicide, according to the show. Instead, Jeanne believed that Michele’s ex-husband, Lloyd Neurauter, was responsible for the murder.

Lloyd and Michele met in high school and married shortly after graduation in 1991. They went to college as a married couple and started a family within a few years before settling in Corning, New York. According to acquaintances, the couple was initially happy, and Lloyd worked as an engineer at Corning Glass.

Michele, too, got a job and started teaching English at a community college. Despite this, the show depicts Lloyd’s behaviour with his children as being exceedingly severe, bordering on abuse, which should have been a huge warning flag.

Despite this, there were no signals of danger until Michele abruptly severed all contact with her parents in 2007. Lloyd moved to New Jersey the following year, leaving the rest of his family in New York. Despite the difficulties in her life, the mother of three attempted to provide her children with the childhood they deserved until Lloyd abruptly filed for divorce.

Lloyd allegedly tried to turn the children against their mother throughout their divorce, which was highly ugly. Lloyd stopped responding to calls and texts in 2017 after the couple was involved in a custody battle over their third child. The case was dismissed as a result, and Michele looked forward to a better future with her daughter.

When investigators apprehended Lloyd following Michele’s death, he claimed he was in Rochester on the day of the crime, helping his daughter, Karrie, move into her new apartment. Despite the fact that Karrie seconded Lloyd’s testimony, the police reviewed CCTV cameras and discovered that Karrie and Lloyd had been in her car for the whole night. As a result, Karrie was summoned for questioning once more, and this time she gave in to the inquiry.

Karrie stated on the episode that her father had urged her to either assist him in killing Michele or watch him commit himself because he couldn’t afford to pay child support. When Karrie was faced with a decision, she selected her father and even drove him to Michele’s house in Corning.

Karrie also admitted to assisting Lloyd in staging the crime as a suicide. As a result, with sufficient proof, the police arrested both Karrie and Lloyd Neurauter for their roles in Michele’s murder.
