Who is Lloyd Neurauter, and where did he come from?
Michele Neurauter, Lloyd Neurauter’s ex-wife, and he met in high school. The couple married soon after college and settled down in Corning, New York, with two kids within a few years. The couple was soon blessed with a third daughter, and the Neurauters’ lives seemed to be complete.
Michele eventually worked as an English professor at a local college, and Llyod worked as an engineer at Corning Glass, a Fortune 500 business. Their life seemed to centre on their children, and they appeared to be extremely happy.
However, the show depicted how Llyod’s strictness with his daughters became borderline abusive as time passed. Nonetheless, his relationship with his children was unaffected, and all three appeared to be close to him. Llyod had to leave his Corning home in 2008 to pursue a new job in New Jersey.
Michele’s life became difficult as she had to work and care for her children while her husband was away. Even yet, no one expected Llyod to serve his then-wife with divorce papers unexpectedly. Michele signed the paperwork despite her reluctance to give up her daughters.
Michele accused her ex-husband of attempting to turn their girls against her, according to the show. In reality, while Karrie was away at college home in Rochester, their eldest daughter moved in with Llyod. Unfortunately, the youngest child was caught in the middle of the divorce, as her parents were fighting over her custody.
Lloyd then abruptly ceased responding to calls and texts a few days before Michele’s death. He even failed to appear in court, resulting in the matter being dismissed. Michele thought she was finally turning the corner in her life, but tragedy struck shortly after, as she was discovered dead on the floor of her home with a rope around her neck on August 28, 2017.
What Has Happened to Lloyd Neurauter and Where Is He Now?
Michele had just obtained custody of her children and appeared to be looking forward to the future, so it seemed unlikely that she would commit suicide. As a result, the police began investigating her ex-husband, who claimed that on the day of the murder, he was assisting Karrie in moving into her college apartment in Rochester. However, after reviewing CCTV footage, authorities discovered that Karrie had driven her father somewhere in her car on the night of the murder, and the two did not return until the next day.
Desperate to achieve a conclusion, the cops subjected Karrie to a gruelling questioning before finally getting her to confess. Karrie stated that her father had urged her to choose between witnessing his suicide or assisting him in the murder of Michele. Karrie, who was caught between a rock and a hard place, chose to assist her father and drove her to Michele’s residence on the night of the murder. She even admitted to assisting in the staging of the crime scene as a suicide.
As a result, the police made their arrests and began developing their case against both the father and the daughter, based on concrete evidence. Lloyd Neurauter pled guilty to first-degree murder, custodial interference, and conspiracy after being brought to court in 2018. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release based on his guilty plea. Lloyd is detained at the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville, New York, for the time being.
