Where is Susan Ford Now? Let’s find out. Aaron Cooley’s The First Lady is an anticipated American anthology drama television series set to broadcast on Showtime on April 17, 2022. Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Gillian Anderson are among the cast members. Susan Elizabeth Ford Bales (born July 6, 1957) is an author, photojournalist, and former chair of the Betty Ford Center for Alcohol and Drug Abuse’s board of directors. Gerald Ford, the 38th president of the United States, is her father.
‘The First Lady‘ is an anthology drama series that tells the stories of three famous American first ladies. The Showtime production follows Michelle Obama (Viola Davis), Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson) in the months leading up to their husbands’ election as Presidents and during their time in the White House.
The show swings between broad socio-political tales and the complexities of first ladies’ positions in their distinct times. Many of the people closest to the women in question, including their family members, are introduced to us through the large cast of characters. As a regular, similarly outspoken companion to her mother, Betty Ford, a young Susan Ford (Dakota Fanning) makes for an incredibly intriguing character.
Let’s have a look at the current location of Susan Ford.
Susan Ford, Who is She?
Susan Ford is the youngest daughter of Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States, and Betty Ford, his wife. She is the younger sister of Steven Ford, Michael Gerald Ford, and John Gardner Ford, and was born on July 6, 1967. Susan attended the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland, as a teenager, and is best known for hosting her high school senior prom at the White House in 1975, the first and only high school senior prom ever held at the White House.
When Betty Ford was hospitalised for breast cancer, Susan stepped in as White House hostess. Susan studied photojournalism at Mount Vernon College and went on to work for the Associated Press, Newsweek, Money Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Omaha Sun, and other publications.
She also worked as a freelancer. Susan joined the Betty Ford Center for Substance Rehabilitation’s board of directors in 1992, and served as the organization’s chair from 2005 to 2010. She has also been on the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation’s Board of Trustees since 1981.
Susan Ford, in addition to being a photojournalist, is a novelist who co-wrote the novel “Double Exposure: A First Daughter Mystery” with Laura Hayden. After that, in 2005, a sequel called ‘Sharp Focus’ was released. Susan married Charles Vance, a former US Secret Service agent under her father’s command, in 1979, and the two co-owned a private security firm in Washington for a time. Susan eventually married attorney Vaden Bales after the couple split in 1988.
What Happened to Susan Ford and Where Is She Now?
Susan Ford is still working in the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, the President Gerald R. Ford Historical Legacy Trust, and the Elizabeth B. Ford Charitable Trust as a Trustee. Susan divorced her husband, Vaden Bales, after living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She then moved to McKinney, Texas, where she presently appears to dwell.
Susan Ford has two daughters, Tyne Vance Berlanga and Heather Vance Devers (from her first marriage), three stepsons, Kevin, Matthew, and Andrew Bales, and five grandchildren, Joy Elizabeth Berlanga, Cruz Vance Berlanga, Elizabeth Blanche Devers, Jude Vance Devers, and Sullivan Bales (from her second marriage).
