A Walk Among the Tombstones is a neo-noir action thriller film based on Lawrence Block’s eponymous 1992 novel.
The film is directed by Scott Frank and follows Detective Matthew “Matt” Scudder, who retired from his work in 1991 after an incident in a bar went bad.
After eight years, a man called Peter Kristo approaches Scudder for assistance in the abduction and murder of his brother Kenny’s wife, Carrie.
Things go wrong during Scudder’s inquiry into the culprits, leading to a dramatic chase throughout New York with the audience on the edge of their seats.
A superb cast leads the fast-paced thriller, which includes Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour, and Boyd Holbrook in important parts.

Filming Locations for ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’ Movie
The 2014 movie is set in New York and was shot in a variety of places throughout the city to convey the heart of the story. The primary photography for ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones‘ began on March 3, 2013 and ended in October of the same year.
Because the storey of ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’ takes place in New York, the movie was shot entirely on location there.

The Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, located at 5th Avenue and 25th Street, was used for various sequences in the film, including those involving groundskeeper Jonas Loogan during the day and the interaction between the investigator and the criminals at night.
Since 2006, the cemetery has been a National Historic Landmark, and it is the final resting place of many notable New Yorkers.
Several moments in ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’ were shot at Sunset Park, a Brooklyn neighbourhood in the southwestern section of the city. It’s noted for having a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty, as well as Chinatown and a diverse Latino community.
The filming took place in Clinton Hill, a notable neighbourhood in north-central Brooklyn. The region of 1961 Beverley Road and Ocean Avenue was used for several sequences, particularly at 1961 Beverley Road and Ocean Avenue.
New York City, Manhattan
Scudder’s inquiry into the killings was filmed at the New York Public Library, which is located at 476 Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in Manhattan.
In the Upper Manhattan neighbourhood of Washington Heights, some sequences were shot on West 181st Street, between Cabrini Boulevard and Pinehurst Avenue, and the Alleyway on West 187th Street, between Fort Washington Avenue and Overlook Terrace.
Several sequences for the film were also shot in the nearby area.
New York’s ‘Queens’
The film ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’ was also shot in Queens. College Point, a suburban and calm working-middle-class neighbourhood, was used as a filming location for various scenes in the action thriller.
It was also the location for the filming of ‘Shaft‘ and ‘Rabbit Hole.’ In addition, the production crew chose Malba as one of the filming locations, which is located between College Point and Whitestone.
