Who Is Daniel Robinson and What Happened to Him?
Investigators and Robinson’s family identified him as a 5’8″ African American guy who was 165 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He has dark eyes and black hair, and his hand and a portion of his right forearm are gone.
Robinson, a geologist, was last seen on June 23, 2021, leaving his place of employment in Buckeye, Arizona. Daniel’s father received word from a federal law enforcement agency that he had observed him earlier that morning while cleaning his Jeep. He reported that they had a brief conversation regarding target practice and that Daniel looked to be in good spirits. The officer affirmed that the Jeep was not currently damaged. He had relocated to the Phoenix region following his 2019 field geology graduation.
On July 19, 2021, a rancher discovered a Jeep on its side in a ravine on his land. The airbags had deployed, and there was evidence inside the Jeep that the driver had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The car included several of Robinson’s personal belongings, including his wallet, clothes, cell phone, and keys.
A human skull was discovered in the region south of where Robinson’s car was found in late July. No more human remains were found at that time, and testing eventually revealed that the skull wasn’t Robinson’s.
The Buckeye Police Department said in a statement on September 16 that they have collaborated with outside agencies to search nearly 70 square miles with the help of UTVs, cadaver dogs, drones, and helicopters.
Robinson’s family engaged an accident reconstructionist and a private investigator when the Jeep was found, and they asserted that the accident scene had been faked. They claimed that after the airbags were activated, the ignition was turned on 46 more times and that 11 more miles were added to the car’s official mileage.
In October 2021, investigators revealed that Robinson had been texting a customer he had met while making deliveries for Instacart. He reportedly was invited inside, and the two exchanged phone numbers. Later texts revealed that he made multiple unannounced visits to her home, and the woman expressed considerable discomfort with his behavior. When the police first spoke with Robinson’s friends, family, and coworkers about the relationship, they all said that Robinson was not suicidal.
On November 9, it was revealed that additional human remains, which had been sent for DNA analysis and identification, had been found during the search for Robinson.
In the course of looking for Robinson, the second set of human remains was discovered. Both sets of bones are suspected to be those of Robinson based on the early investigation, which was based on anthropological evidence of race and the amount of time spent outside.
Is Daniel Robinson Still Alive or Dead?
When David Robinson, Daniel’s father, learned that Daniel’s employees were looking for him, he immediately realized something was wrong. David claims that because his kid was an adult, the authorities ceased hunting for him. When he heard that, he remarked, “That was unacceptable to me. So I gathered all I could and got in my car. I arrived here and have been looking for my kid since June 26.”
Daniel’s automobile was discovered in a gully on a rancher’s land on July 19, 2021, reviving interest in the case. But the state of the car and the evidence that followed created more questions than answers for everyone. The car was severely damaged, but there was evidence that the driver was buckled up. There were no visible indications of Daniel, but his wallet, keys, and smartphone were discovered in the vehicle.
Jeff McGrath, a private eye retained by the family, found anomalies with the vehicle. He thought the location of Daniel’s car’s damage didn’t match where it was discovered. Not only that, but an examination showed that the vehicle was started at least 46 times after the airbags were deployed and that it was driven for around 11 miles following the collision. The officials, however, claimed that the 11-mile difference was not unusual and that they thought the car had rolled over.
Jeff felt that the facts did not support the claim that Daniel’s car rolled over. He claimed that in that situation, the roof would have also been destroyed in addition to the windows breaking. In his opinion, there had been a collision, and the tragedy had been manufactured. According to the investigation, Daniel wasn’t acting like himself in the days before he vanished. He had been speaking to Katelyn, who had urged him to leave her alone after learning from text messages from Daniel’s mobile. Daniel wandered around the girl’s house for no reason.
Despite their continuous investigation, the authorities are of the opinion that Daniel’s disappearance was not the result of any criminal activity. However, his father is still searching and has established a foundation in Daniel’s memory. Daniel’s father David said, “The goal is to help other families not go through what I have been through just to get to this point. I’m here until I find my son. That’s what the goal is; that’s what I’m really fighting. I’m doing anything I can to make sure that happens. I think any father, any mother would do the same.”
