What Caused Miya Marcano’s Death?
Miya Marcano, 19, lived in an apartment complex in Orlando, Florida, and was well-liked by her neighbours. She was a student at Valencia College, and her classmates praised her academic performance. Family and friends characterised the adolescent as a joyful and kindhearted person who enjoyed life and meeting new friends. Miya was kidnapped from this world by a hate-fueled act on a gloomy day.
Miya Marcano was last seen on September 24, 2021, at her Orlando residence. Miya was set to fly to Fort Lauderdale that evening to visit her family, despite working in the apartment’s leasing office. She did not, however, board the flight, and her pals became increasingly concerned as they were unable to contact the 19-year-old through text or phone.
A handful of Miya’s friends went inside her flat, fearing the worst, and were surprised to find everything in chaos. The situation indicated that a struggle had occurred, and because Miya was nowhere to be seen, they promptly reported him missing to the police.
When officials discovered Miya’s body on October 2, 2021, they concentrated their search around the Tymber Skan apartment complex in Orlando. The police said that they were led to the area after receiving a tip, which was around 17 to 18 kilometres from Miya’s home.
Authorities noticed that the victim’s wrists and feet were bound with duct tape when the body was recognised as Miya’s, indicating an abduction. Even though her mouth was taped shut, detectives found no evidence of sexual abuse. However, due to the level of decomposition, an autopsy was unable to confirm the cause of death, despite the death being pronounced a homicide.
Who Killed Miya Marcano and Why?
When Miya went missing, the police searched the neighbourhood and interrogated various people in the hopes of getting a tip. The initial investigation was slow since there were no leads or clues to follow. Interestingly, the police learned through several sources that Armando Manuel Caballero, a maintenance employee at Miya’s apartment, had exhibited a romantic interest in the victim.
Miya, on the other hand, was uninterested and had previously rejected his approaches. Armando was also present outside Miya’s apartment building at the time of her disappearance, according to her friends who initially reported her missing.
When the police investigated Armando’s whereabouts, they discovered that he had a master key fob, which had been used to access Miya’s apartment door on the day she vanished. As a result, the police decided to bring him in for interrogation because he was a person of interest.
Armando was adamant about his innocence after being interrogated, insisting that he had nothing to do with Miya’s murder. He even said that on the day Miya went missing, he last saw her at about 3 p.m. at her apartment complex. In a tragic change of events, Armando supposedly committed suicide on September 27, 2021, effectively ending the probe.
Still, because he was the key suspect in the murder inquiry, officials began tracing his phone. They learned that he was in the Tymber Skan apartment complex area on September 24, 2021, between 8:20 and 8:40 p.m. Law enforcement personnel focused their search on that location based on such information, and Miya’s body was found.
Unfortunately, Armando is the only suspect in the case to this day, and the show stated that investigators believe he was the murderer. Miya’s family, on the other hand, has kept her memory alive by establishing the Miya Marcano Foundation, which assists families of those who have gone missing.
