Ruddy and Francoise argue in the fourth episode. The young producer is strained by the couple’s feud. Meanwhile, Robert Evans is rejoicing at the critical and commercial success of his most recent production, ‘Love Story.’ Ruddy tells Evans during a party that Marlon Brando has agreed to star in “The Godfather.” Evans, on the other hand, dismisses the concept, citing Brando’s recent failed films and tough demeanour.

Ruddy is accompanied by Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo to a meeting with Marlon Brando. The actor explains at the conference that he only decided to play Vito Corleone because Frank Sinatra despises ‘The Godfather,’ and the two have a personal grudge. Despite this, Brando’s portrayal as Vito Corleone impresses Coppola, Puzo, and Ruddy.

Coppola urges that Brando and Al Pacino portray the film’s two leads, impressed by Brando’s commitment to the role. Evans, on the other hand, is opposed to the casting of Brando and Pacino. Meanwhile, Ruddy and Francoise’s relationship is deteriorating, and they seek the couple’s counselling. Ruddy declares during a session that he does not want to work as a producer with Francoise but still loves her.

Francoise has had enough of Ruddy and has decided to leave. Ruddy speaks with Charles Bluhdorn behind Evans’ back to get Brando’s casting approved. Evans is obliged to meet with Brando when Bluhdorn accepts the decision.

As filming begins, Ruddy meets with Joe Colombo to work out a solution to Frank Sinatra’s opposition to the project. Ruddy proposes that the story’s focus be shifted away from Johnny Fontane, a figure Sinatra believes is based on him.

After learning that the owner of the house Coppola intends to film the movie in has backed out, Colombo threatens the owner to keep his word. Finally, Ruddy must persuade Evans to put Pacino in the film in order to get it off the ground.

The Offer Episodes 4 Ending Explained

Francis Ford Coppola insists that a relatively unknown Al Pacino is the proper choice to play Michael Corleone even before the script is finished. However, studio chief Robert Evans is opposed to Al Pacino being cast in the picture. He will not watch Pacino’s auction tapes and will not listen to Ruddy’s arguments.

Instead, he recommends a number of other performers to play Ruddy. Coppola, on the other hand, considers Brando and Pacino to be fundamental to his vision. As a result, Ruddy is compelled to cast the two actors surrounding Evans.

Ruddy persuades Evans to cast Brando, but the studio boss advises the young producer not to do it again. Due to Evans’ rejection to cast Pacino, Ruddy had no choice but to enlist the help of Charles Bluhdorn. Evans becomes enraged at Ruddy after he seeks Bluhdorn’s approval. Evans insists that James Caan be cast as Sonny Corleone. Ruddy agrees, not wanting to further irritate the studio boss. However, his friendship with Evans suffers irreversible harm in the process.

Furthermore, Coppola has doubts about his capacity to bring his vision for the film to life. As a result, Ruddy gets himself into even more problems by insisting on casting Pacino. The biggest revelation, however, occurs in the final moments of the episode for the producer. Al Pacino is informed of his casting in ‘The Godfather’ by Ruddy and casting director Andrea Eastman in a pub.

Pacino, on the other hand, politely declines the part, citing a contract he has already signed to star in a romantic comedy. Ruddy’s efforts to persuade Pacino are in futile, as the actor leaves determined to keep his word. Ruddy is unhappy at the end of the episode, thinking about the sacrifices he has made to have the film made.
