The story follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a housewife who discovers her talent for comedy after her husband leaves her for his secretary in the late 1950s and early 1960s in New York.
Susie Myerson, an employee at The Gaslight Café, becomes her manager after Midge does her first impromptu performance.
Midge and Susie endure an uphill battle to establish themselves in America’s entertainment world during the next four seasons, encountering misogyny, heckling audience members, and disastrous excursions along the way.
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ has received largely excellent reviews and many Emmy nominations since its March 17, 2017 premiere.

Release Date for Season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Season 4 of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ started on Amazon Prime Video on February 17, 2022, and lasted eight episodes until ending on March 11, 2022, with two episodes airing every week. This is what you need to know about Season 5.
The sitcom was renewed for a fifth and final season on February 17, 2022, the same day the fourth season of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ began.
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios, spoke about the impact of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ on the business in a press release.
“With their one-of-a-kind storytelling, Amy [Sherman-Palladino], Dan [Palladino], and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have carved an unrivalled path, elevating the tales we tell about women, breaking industry norms, and forever transforming the entertainment landscape,” she said.
“The thousands of prizes cement Maisel’s legacy in many ways, but the characters Amy created and the bright, brilliant, distinctive world she and Dan brought to life are even more timeless and emotional,” Salke continued.
“This show has meant a lot to Prime Video, and the ripple effects of its success will be felt long after it ends.” As we approach the conclusion of this revolutionary and amazing series, I can’t wait for fans and our global Prime Video audience to appreciate every moment.”
The COVID-19 pandemic was a major factor in the delay between the third and fourth seasons’ releases, which lasted over two years.
With the majority of the American people immunised, this should be less of an issue during Season 5 production, which is currently underway in New York City.
With all of this in mind, we can predict that season 5 of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ will premiere in 2023.
