Alexandra Daddario Nude Scene in True Detective – Since “Boardwalk Empire” in 2010, “True Detective” has had HBO’s biggest debut. When it returns for its second episode, viewers will not only get more of the dark murder mystery and outstanding work from Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, but they will also get to see Alexandra Daddario in her most mature role to date.
The actress is well-known for her work in the “Percy Jackson” series and the most recent “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” but in this Sunday’s episode, “Seeing Things,” Daddario plays a character that she called a “big challenge” to MTV News.
Daddario had prior film industry experience. The young actor has roles in movies like the Percy Jackson trilogy and the comedy Hall Pass before True Detective. She acknowledged that True Detective, more than any other show, had a profound effect on her career. She initially viewed appearing on True Detective as a calculated move for her career.
“The tactical choice was, I went in for the audition and they seemed vaguely interested, and it was for a different role. I was like, “Well, they’re vaguely interested and I love these actors and I love [True Detective director] Cary Fukunaga and I want to be in this show, so let’s force them to hire me,” Daddario said to Collider. “I reasoned that I needed something on my résumé to demonstrate my versatility, or something.”
But probably more than she anticipated, her plan worked. Daddario miscalculated the importance and breadth of that position.
It’s been a while, but she said, “I didn’t anticipate to have what I had happen, which was becoming naked on a show where I didn’t have a major role, I didn’t know what to expect. And of course, when that show had aired, my manager called. I’ll never forget the scene: I was lying on my boyfriend’s couch when she called the following morning, saying, “The phone has been ringing nonstop all morning. The phone is constantly ringing! Everyone in town immediately wanted to meet with me, so I made reservations for San Andreas.
Daddario had a lot of luck thanks to True Detective, but she did find filming a naked scene difficult. The actor had never before taken off her clothes in front of the camera. But she understood that the popular TV show’s narrative needed her to be nude, which made things simpler.
Daddario once remarked in an interview, “It was the first time I went nude for anything, so I was definitely spooked by that, but I think any suggested misogyny is a result of defining the characters. “You see the character played by Woody Harrelson as a family man, and then all of a sudden you see him in this very sexual situation with this naked female. Simply put, it dramatically alters how you perceive him.
Woody Harrelson, Alexandra Daddario’s co-star in “True Detective,” assisted her with the nude scene.
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson both played the key characters in True Detective. Daddario had a lot of assistance from Harrelson in particular during her naked scene. Given his knowledge in the industry, Harrelson was able to reassure his co-star.
On the day of the shoot, Daddario found solace in her more experienced costar, whose wisdom helped her get through a potentially difficult scenario.
“Woody has accomplished so much variety. He made everything quite pleasant “said Daddario. “There was nothing unpleasant about it in that regard. Before filming the more private sequences, I made an effort not to give it too much thought and just sort of did it. [Harrelson] has already accomplished it. Woody Harrelson is him. If there was somebody with whom I would feel at ease, it would be someone like him.”
The tale of Lisa in the context of Hart’s life has only recently begun to be told in “Seeing Things,” and according to Daddario, there may be some issues arising from the relationship.
“She most obviously has a problem, in my opinion. No one is entirely good or bad “Daddario commented about her personality. “She might even be a little bored, emotionally unstable, and naive. She has probably done similar things in the past, albeit perhaps not exactly as they played out. In Hart’s tale, that is what she does. She presents issues for him.”
